Flashes for Bluesky

I’m 100% for uncensored content, but Flashes is overrun with furry smut and extreme kink related content. The hashtag “art” or “tags” and other general tags are flooded with 50% or more smut related content. Even if you turn up your censorship viewing to the max, loads of furry and smut content leaks through. I’ve had to use 30+ list account blockers to clean up the content, but I still get loads of smut in my feed. I’d love to see fine art of the human body etc and have way less restrictions than IG, but the whole platform is flooded with extreme kink art and misogynistic rubbish… You can block users but the algorithm still feeds you that stuff via almost any search. Please allow tweaking personal algorithms to exclude extreme kink content but let fine art be viewed. If I open my filter enough to view fine art nudity; it lets in hardcore porn. I’d like to see the art, not furries and pornhub content 🤧 + when you block accounts, it doesn’t hide the post for you instantly; it remains there as if you never blocked the post. If this was fixed this could be a 10/10 IG alternative; but at the moment it’s really unusable. I can follow certain people; but when I use the discover or search tool it all falls apart.

i originally dowloaded this app as an alternative to Meta, which has been on my list to drop for years. but Flashes and Bluesky aren't just suitable alternatives. they're better in almost every way. the endless options for customization of your feed and profile are brilliant. but if you want to know the best part of it all, it's this: you'll spend less time on it. i keep my feed restricted to a chronological one of just accounts i follow. if i want to doomscroll, i can search for or discover new accounts. but the truth is that i want a real life. i'm tired of Meta and being manipulated and flooded with ads and not even seeing the accounts i actually follow. i want to decide what i see, and Flashes has that covered for me. and once i've seen everything from the folks i follow, the feed ends and i log out, and i go enjoy a real life. i'm thrilled with the app, i was part of the beta test group and I thoroughly love everything about it. Eventually it will be an app independent from Bluesky, but right now you'll need a bluesky account for the app to connect to and pull images from. you won't need to use it if you aren't a Twitter type, i know i am not. but Flashes is terrific and takes very little time to figure out and get started. i'm not very tech-savvy and it's easy to use and understand. download and enjoy. five stars.

When I joined Bluesky, it would be an understatement to say that I was overjoyed to have the old Tweet-site feel but that I could curate to what I wanted. And now I have a photo feed app that doesn’t zuck? I love it. I wish it had messaging support so that I could send photos in DMs on Bluesky, but I’m sure that cross compatibility support is way down the road and I’m ok waiting on that. In the meantime — not that I don’t love the text-then-photo style posts on Bluesky, but this large image format with the small description after definitely scratches an itch in my brain. I’ve not experienced any bugs or issues yet. I love how the app feels and functions. I am on the edge of my seat to see what the future holds for development. Keep up the great work! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
