Five Heroes: The King's War

Just started this game and it was awesome Recently updated and the game mechs changed drastically Can’t upgrade your guys as fast Can’t negotiate locations as easily Can’t even enter different stages, you pick your party then nothing Can’t even get ahold of devs through help Wrecked what was an amazing game Update, worked through some of the problems , no thanks to the devs, and it is just not worth it. I usually play games for a couple weeks and get the hang of it but this is just too tedious. Evolving heroes takes too much gold, there’s no easy way to compare equipment or characters. There’s no easy way to know who works better in battles. Pvp just doesn’t work. I hate when games assign power ratings that mean nothing. I routinely get crushed by teams with power ratings thousands below mine. Battles are frustrating when your powerful heroes can’t participate because they get one turn to move for every 4-5 of others or can only move one square at a time. Upgrading them doesn’t help this either The update also increased the requirements for daily tasks. 30 battles for 5 heroes is a little much. Time needed to upgrade is also too long, and gold and gems are too hard to get for what you need. Deceptively simple, incredibly entertaining. On starting 5 Heroes you may be tempted to judge it to be a shallow, but fun, small scale tactical combat game. Don’t! As you progress you will find more and more to do. Then will come your eureka moment when you see this game for what it truly is, an interesting fusion of tactical combat/hero collection/resource management with both PVE and PVP elements and even a smidge of idle mechanics; all beautifully combined into a deep and engaging game. The developers WANT you to enjoy yourself first and foremost. This is seen in their community responses on Discord (side note: JOIN DISCORD! The community is awesome, friendly, and knowledgeable) and in game with their attitude towards participation. Not sure you can hack it in a certain fight, event, or PVP? Try! You’ll get something for your effort and if you fail there’s no lasting consequence. This game is also completely free. There is no paywall, no pay to win, no whaling, etc. Anything can be gotten through normal play. And I’m not talking glacial slow free to play progression either. I’ve only been playing since October and am already contributor towards the collective information gathered on Discord! So try 5 Heroes, there’s nothing to lose but everything to gain in what will surely become an app that stays with you way past your next device upgrade! If I would change one thing it would be to polish the beginning tutorials for the game. And walking the player completely through each feature as it’s unlocked, even if it means handholding the user through the first steps.

I have played enough games to know that the best games are made by people who care about the game and the players. With my experience the team responds as soon as they can (definitely within 24 hours since they seem to be awake when I am asleep) and they are interested in what you have to suggest. I threw a curveball at them by trying to use my iPod touch to play the game which crashed constantly making the game unplayable. I mentioned it to them on messenger and they asked me a few questions and told me that they don’t test the game on iPods but they do an about everything else. I can say that after 2 or 3 updates it now runs flawlessly on my iPod. So now I can finally have fun bashing skeletons and playing the game which is a nice simple easy to use game. I definitely recommend this one if you enjoy this genre of games
