I had not worked out since my 3rd C-section, 7 years ago, because my diastasis recti was so bad and I felt so discouraged and it was so uncomfortable. When I tried to do a crunch, it looked like an alien was trying to jump out of me. Random strangers would ask me when I was due. My OB, during my annual exam, said to me โyour abdominal area has just completely given up, hasnโt it.โ When I started with this app and did the first gap measurement, it felt like I could get both handโs worth of fingers (so 8 fingers) into the gap, it was ridiculous. This app was a Hail Mary before I started looking for surgeons (that I canโt really afford). I have now been doing the exercises in this app at least 5 days a week for 6 weeks. Dear lord is it effective. Iโm down to a two finger gap, and just a tiny little โgently sloping hillโ when I try to do a crunch. Iโve lost .7 inch in my waist and .4 inch in my stomach. And the very best part is I can do the whole thing in my room with the door closed right after taking the kids to school before I head to the office. One time I couldnโt get the exercises in, and I literally did at least the core compressions in the car while driving to work. Itโs easy and it feels good to do them. The only negative to this app is that my husband is a little miffed that I started spending so much money on new tops that are small and cute, instead of the tents I was wearing to hide my belly. Good problems. :)
This app is a great gentle workout. I love that it is safe for DR and also helps to heal it! Iโm still on week 3 so Iโm not very far in, but I love the workouts and gentleness of the trainer and also the helpful videos which tell you what is safe and what is not and how to properly move day to day with DR. I cried when I watched those because I felt so supported and like I was finally getting the information I needed! I love that you can ask questions and a trained professional will answer you. Iโm feeling like I can do it! Itโs so nice that the videos are easy to follow, especially with motherhood really taking it all out of me everyday, I love that I can come to this app and do similar workouts everyday, not having to learn something new necessarily. I feel like the moves are specifically chosen for their effectiveness because I can feel it. I really like the speakers voice and her words are always helpful reminders so Iโm properly doing the exercises! I often find myself listening to her and then realizing I needed that reminder and incorporating it. I also really love the set up of the app, itโs straightforward but also simple and beautiful. Iโm 21 days in and I really like this app. I had a diastases after my first pregnancy and didnโt really know what to do about it. Iโd always been very active, but was afraid to take on any abdominal exercises in fear of making things worse. After my second baby, I knew I had to seek out professional help. I started going to a class run by a Physical Therapist who specializes in pelvic floor/core/womenโs health when my baby was around 3 months old. I also met with her for a few one on one sessions. When my baby was about 7 months old, I downloaded the Every Mother app. The app has really helped me to be consistent with my exercises and get stronger. In just 3 weeks, Iโve seen a big difference in the strength of my core and it also looks tighter, as well. Iโve been more consistent with the app exercises, than with the exercises that the PT gave me. I like that I can follow along with a video for every workout. I love that the app mixes the exercises up - this keeps things from getting boring. I also love the layout of if the app. Itโs very easy to use. And most important of all, it keeps me engaged, on track and motivated. I love that each exercise/day get checked off - this is as satisfying as crossing something off of your to do this. I like that there is a visible record of all you have accomplished and all that still needs to be completed. I would love it if you could input some information to personalize the app - add the date that you start and you initial measurements. Great app! Nice work!
