eCalendar - Daily Planner

I was wanting a smart family calendar for about a year prior to using this one, but I couldn’t justify the price tag for the more well-known and frequently advertised brands (especially since my family is several flavors of neurospicy, and didn’t know if we would even use it long term). Purchased a digital calendar & frame at a surprisingly affordable price (cyber Monday deal I believe), and thought “if we actually use this for more than 3 months, we can upgrade.” Here we are almost a year later, still using it! After using eCalendar for 6 months, I looked into the other more expensive brands to see which one we may want to “upgrade” to, only to find that the higher expense doesn’t really come with more features (not any that a typical family would regularly use anyways, and definitely not anything that would justify paying hundreds for the device and regular subscription costs). I feel that it’s important to note that my family does not use Google/apple/android calendars (I know some people have issues with the sync-ing), and we do not sync them to the eCalendar; we only use eCalendar (across all devices); it was initially a little tedious to manually enter stuff from other calendars (like birthdays and and monthly/quarterly events), but it was worth it and works beautifully that way!

I love having a digital calendar that syncs with the app on my phone. So many glitches though. My biggest issue is that I have something scheduled on the calendar for a certain time, and when the app gives me a notification on my phone, the time is never correct. Most of the time it says the appointment is 2 pm for some reason. Today, I have an appointment for 4:15 pm, and the notification is for 930 pm. I always have to open the app and check the calendar for the correct times. I have tried the whole, turn it off and turn it on or turn off the wi-fi, and nothing helps. Also, the actual screen is constantly glitching on the calendar. I have unplugged it and plugged it in over and over. Sometimes it helps. I have heard the plug is just cheap and will need to buy a better one, but for this price, it should last more than one month. Yes, I’ve only had this a month. Also, There is a major issue with putting menus in for a week. They never show up when you go to look at them, so you have to scroll back to the prior week or ahead to the next one and then come back to the current week for it to show up. It’s just weird and glitchy. Way too expensive for so many issues.

I bought this calendar to help create organization in our home with five children, and it has been amazing. My kids can get up and independently follow their daily tasks for homeschooling and chores, which has truly brought more peace to our family. I even created tabs for kind gestures toward one another so they can earn stars, and it’s been such a positive addition. The only downside is that there isn’t an option to hang it on the wall, and it’s a little tedious to set up at first but once it’s set up, we absolutely love it. I would love the option to take away stars for my children as a discipline. I never wished the emojis were a little more broad and chore related so my child that doesn’t know how to read would be easier for her to determine what her chores were. I’ve been telling all my friends and family about this calendar and highly recommend it!
