I’ve been LOVING this app! since I’ve started using it consistently, I’ve lost 10 pounds and it makes tracking so much easier to stick to. I especially love using the camera feature for whenever I am eating a meal at a restaurant, or when someone else has cooked and I don’t know all the Macros. Not only can you snap a photo of your food, but there is also a barcode feature and a text feature. It is subscription based, but honestly, I just paid $30 for the year subscription and I think it is very worth it! The only downfall is that the app sometimes crashes when trying to use the camera feature. But the founders really care about making it the best experience possible. They asked for my feedback on things to improve (since I use the app a bunch). Overall, if you’re trying to lose weight, gain weight, or maintain your weight, for the new year, this is the perfect tool!!
It’s a great app but it definitely needs some updates. Sometimes it takes forever for DietAI to load calorie information or figure out what the item you’re photographing is. There needs to be an option to manually type in a food or drink item and calorie info if you can’t get the photo to load or just an option like that in general. Secondly if you’re taking a photo of a food item, for example you’re photographing the actual calorie info on the package or you’re photographing a specific brand or whatever DietAI should be able to grab that exact calorie information off the internet and have it be completely accurate because it isn’t always accurate. It is nice however that you can manually edit and write in how many calories if it doesn’t calculate the calories exactly. The app would be a 5 out of 5 for me if you could do what I mentioned above. I know the app works as I have already lost 20 pounds on it. So thank you for helping change my life already. This has become a lifestyle for me and I’m so thankful I found your app. Edit: I would just like to add one more thing to the end of this review. The app costs about $30 a year. I don’t have a whole lot of money right now but the $30 is well worth it as I have already lost 20 pounds in a relatively short amount of time and I am 100% confident now that I will reach my goal. I am also on mental health medications that make weight loss hard but this app is a lifesaver because I used to emotionally eat, now it’s like I’m playing a game and I’m trying not to go over the point or calorie limit. So it definitely works, I’m so grateful.
Great app so far, like the idea of a chat box. I don’t seem to see where I can post for friends or for anyone to see; would like to see that. When asked what my fitness goals were I was given the choices of maintaining weight, losing weight, or gaining it. I personally am doing a recomp and when I told the AI it understood what I meant. It created my personal homepage with the info I gave it; really cool that it knew what I meant when I said recomp. I would’ve liked it if it explained why exactly it gave me the calorie count it did. Unfortunately it also doesn’t tell you what macros you should attempt hit and gives no explanation on that either. I believe that an explanation on the calorie count given would be very beneficial to the user. A macro goal and explanation would also be very beneficial because it could explain to the user why they should, for example, eat more carbs if they’re trying to put on weight or eat less if trying to lose it. Haven’t had a chance to look at the camera feature but will come back and write a review on that as well. I think some customization features would also be cool, app is a bit monochrome (which I like) but wouldn’t mind changing it up every now and then. When I attempted to describe my work out to the chat bot, it just kept loading and I received no response. I liked the warning it gives when you create your account, good to acknowledge it. I’m not sure what AI you’re using for the chat bot, but you could possibly try and train your own algorithm with your own data to make it more nutrition based (not sure how or if it’s trained). Great potential for an app, I’m excited to keep using it and seeing how it evolves. PS I came from tiktok
