CashWalk - Daily Step Counter

I love the concept. It keeps me motivated with a reward system. Although, it takes some time to accumulate enough for redemption, it does force you to be consistent in walking and if you are walking anyway, you might as well earn something while doing it. You can earn gift cards and you don’t have to pay to use this unlike other apps with the same concept. It would be cool to earn cash, but I can’t complain. This is pretty good. The instructions could be clearer about whether the points roll over and still count along side the coins earned for the next day, and so on and so forth. There was a tutorial, but it wasn’t very informative. That’s something I would suggest improvement on or have the adjustment of written instructions. Another thing I’d like is for it to sync to my Apple Watch and any smart watch/fitness watch so I do not have to hold my phone when I’m walking indoors or outdoors. Otherwise, I can see the pedometer underreport my steps if I forget to hold it.

I’ve been using the app for at least a year and at first it was great! The goals felt attainable and that includes gift card redemption. I reviewed the other reviews complaining about not being able to redeem rewards, and I had no issues (I still don’t). Fast forward to Dec 2023 & I was playing a game that was linked to this app and one day it stopped recording my progress. I was supposed to get over 4K in coins and I earned it by offering my gameplay data. Here we are in late March 2024 and I’ve only received 250 coins for not being able to get assistance from the gameplay provider. I’ve emailed while being very courteous since I also work in customer service just pleading for help and eventually they stopped responding. I asked Cashwalk for the email since the gameplay provider blocked my phones IP address somehow, and received crickets. So I dug a little deeper in the app and located the email for the gameplay provider. I’ve since included my screenshots and request for help with ways to either avoid this mishap in the future or just to pay up for the coins I earned properly, and still silence. If you only walk to receive coins, then it’s great, however, if you want to maximize your coin profits, be very cautious and careful. If Cashwalk is able to provide me with actual assistance, I’d be more than happy to update my review because in the past they’ve been helpful, but 3 months of begging for help in a kind manner, not cool guys.

I downloaded the app about 4 months ago. During that time, extra coin rewards were never deposited into the account. That’s okay, I can survive. Then, there were never rewards available when I hit the necessary amount of steps. The developers were quick to respond on the App Store, but didn’t respond to customer support emails. Surprise, when rewards restocked and were available, my account was paused. The account was paused for weeks, while I waited a response, after sending several emails. Here it is, copied and pasted: “the service use from out of the service area might cause account suspension considered as an abusing action. If you made any visits or traveled to the non-service area with the CashWalk service, please send us any proof such as tickets or reservations under your mobile number or email address.” There was no elaboration on what “service area” is. I was pretty disturbed by the request for personal information like hotel stays, tickets, reservations. That is excessive and not a reasonable response as to why my account was randomly paused? Of course, despite asking for clarification, they never responded. So, I give up. Based on other reviews it seems that other users have had similar problems with support or an account for whatever reason never culminating in an actual reward. It probably gathers a ton of personal data, but finds random ways to pressure users into giving up on ever getting their rewards.
