Beeper: Every Chat in One App

Genuinely so grateful for this app. I wanted to delete all my social media apps while studying for the LSAT because I was addicted and wasting so much time, but my friend group chat was on instgram which made it difficult. One of my buddies found this mentioned on a forum somewhere, and it has been a game changer for me. Allows me to keep in contact with my friends while avoiding the temptation to scroll. Screen time and mental health have improved drastically. Only suggestion I’d made is that I just personally don’t like how the messaging interface looks compared to instagram, and it makes it more difficult to actually watch videos from posts that are sent. Small prices to pay for the improvement it has on my life, though!

I love using this app instead of going on instagram to reply to dms. Nowadays it’s basically impossible to stop scrolling on instagram when all you wanted to do was to reply to messages. With Beeper all that goes away! I can reply to messages right there without ever opening instagram. One thing I would like to see improved though is the muting of chats. I’ve noticed when someone directly replies to your message the notification still goes through. (When they mention you) I’d like there to be at least a toggle where you can choose whether or not the notifications still go through if they mention you. Sometimes you need to mute the group chat at times when you need to be on the lookout for another message on the app from a different person. Otherwise it’s a great app and I’ve suggested it to everyone I know! Keep up the good work guys 👍

This is an honest review of my experience with Beeper. If you don’t want to read everything, basically it works well for my needs, but I am curious about how they are making money from this. I’ve been using beeper off and on since it first came out however long ago. Since the first release, the app has improved significantly. The creators seem to be working constantly on improving the user experience, removing bugs, and increasing compatibility with other apps. The user experience has improved drastically since the early days, and while it isn’t exactly the same as the real apps (instagram, etc.) it is comparable to the DM system of Instagram. Personally, I use this app to limit my screen time on social media platforms. I am able to extract conversations from Instagram, discord, and WhatsApp with ease, while simultaneously using a separate app to block myself from entering social media sites. It’s been a couple months, and this system has worked well so far. There has been little to no bugginess, and the tech team was very on top of responding to my questions. My only real concern is how they are making enough monetary from this. According to my research they offer an optional subscription, but I guess I’m still a little unsure how it all works. I only have two issues/questions with this app. 1.) Will Beeper be compatible with laptops at any point? 2.) Will iMessages ever work on Beeper again? Overall, I’d say this app is worth it if you want to have a one stop shop for all your day to day messages, or if you are trying to limit social media intake. I look forward to seeing Beepers growth!
