The app needs to check if seat reservation can work BEFORE attempting to charge the credit card. We have to go through a lot of steps to confirm that we are legit users of the credit card and after that failing the entire transaction because a seat reservation cannot be made is AWFULL customer service. If some high level manager has an issue with this, You can always bring up a message that “a seat reservation cannot be made at this time” and give the user the chance to cancel. Also, but less important, if seats can be reserved in one leg of a trip (in my case Budapest to Wien) but not the second leg (was Wien to Frankfurt) then the user should have to option to make the reservation for part of the trip. Finally, IF our address info is given to the credit card company (to confirm billing address) then if the payment fails, we should be told to confirm that our address in the app should match the cr card billing address
Similar to the person that made the previous post; The app did not allow me to make a payment with a US credit card. I tried it 3 times and the app would just close down on all 3 attempts. However, after deleting the app, I was able to purchase my tickets via their website. I had to delete their app because when I was online the website would automatically open the app to take the final steps of purchasing the tickets.
The main problem for me was that I was not able to complete a train ticket purchase with a US credit card. I tried 3 cards and the transaction always fails as soon as Pay Now is clicked. It doesn’t say a thing but no confirmation shows nor email is received. I tried the website, too. It always fails there, too, but, at least, it lets you know that it was rejected by the credit card company. This is while you wait for a text message with a passcode from your credit card company. The rejection happens before you have a chance to enter the passcode. Also, there is a reserved seat option in the app, but you cannot select the actual seat. The website, however, does let you select the seat. So if you are in Austria use the website, if you can. For me, I had to ask a favor from an Austrian acquaintance, who purchased the tickets for me.
