The app works well if you are lucky enough to remember everything on the first try. Good luck if you want to modify that order. Placed a delivery order today (a week before Thanksgiving) because it was the only way I could get one of the ingredients I need for Thanksgiving. Got the email confirming the order. Clicked on the link in the email to add a few things I forgot. The link takes you to the website NOT THE APP to update the order. Once there, it tries to set up a different delivery time and charge you another fee. Had to spend nearly 20 minutes on the phone with customer service to find the place in the APP where I could modify my order. I have experienced this several times with Baker’s — things are completely different on the app and the website/emails. Someone needs to learn how to coordinate this, test links, and make sure people have the correct information! FYI, I have 27 years of web desogn experience. This system is a disaster for usability and needs to be reviewed from top to bottom.
I like the general setup of the app. I can find grocery items pretty quickly or search for them and it’s almost always available. It’s cool that they have a list of items you’ve bought frequently before to save you time and digital coupons on most items. I’ve said lots of money, plus got fees waived :) The only issue I have is that in order to pay for groceries through the app, you HAVE to save your card information.
Standing in the store, seeing an awesome digital coupon deal and cannot find any way to add it while standing there. Digital coupons within the app are a mystery. If you are lucky they might just show up in the rolling ad on the top. There was an extra fuel points digital coupon for gift cards and I was buying 8 gift cards. The sign on the display said it was available but I couldn’t find it anywhere in the app and no store employee could figure out where to find it either. I did a search for digital, card, gift and fuel points and the digital coupons were never presented. It was as if Bakers really doesn’t want you to actually get them, just frustrate the heck out of you while dangling a carrot in front out you that you cannot actually get. And this is NOT a 1 time occurrence, it happens often. Shame on you Bakers.
