I absolutely enjoy the banking app it allows you to make up specific “goals” you want to achieve. I have things set up individually for every day essentials like groceries, internet, rates, mortgage etc and it makes it easier for me to budget and not overspend as I transfer specific amount of money in each goal every week so that way when it comes to having to pay internet I used the money from that goal or need to food shop I use that money from that goal so it’s simple. I’m the type of person that has no idea about how to save or budget so i would over spend but physically seeing each goal laid out it’s easier for me to put the money where is needs to go towards to and that’s a life saviour for me, and the app it self is really easy to use it’s not so technical. I’ve close my other accounts and now this has been my go to
I switched from ANZ around 1-2 years ago because the base app was just not cutting it for me. I moved onto neobanks and they’ve been the best change. However the reason I’ve come back is the design of this new app and the similar functions to what other neobanks have done. I much prefer the clean simplistic and professional brand and visual information design of this app that I have been searching for. There is ONE feature that I think is extremely important and urgent that should be considered to be implemented ASAP as a quality of life update. ANZ PLUS WIDGET. I want to be able to always see my spending amount I have left without constantly checking it within the app or accidentally trying to pay and realise I forgot to move money over and have to do that on the spot. That is the only thing holding me back from truly making the swap. An extra feature that is not anywhere near as urgent, would be a quick way to request money from others for part or all reimbursement for a transaction, but only to those who also use the ANZ Plus app and are listed as trusted, so u can just read over and hit confirm after putting in your pin. As couples, friends or families tend to use the same bank. Sometimes it’s a hassle to always remember to send money back to them and for what; after they’ve paid for it unless they remind you at a time where you can fill in all the details to do so. With this I would definitely convince my partner to make the switch too and make our spendings fair. Plus a good way to get extra people on ;) little hot tip there
I love the idea of a reasonably attractive savings interest rate on offer without having to jump through annoying hoops (no card transaction requirements is a big plus). However, it was probably the most difficult bank sign-up process I’ve ever encountered and I’ve tried over 10 different popular banks in Australia. Having to scan your ID and take a selfie is intrusive enough, but then there were a bunch of IT issues on top of that leading me to take 20+ photos and none of them worked. I went back a few hours later and finally managed to get it set up but it was a struggle and really needs improving - I would prefer to enter my licence number and have it cross-referenced using the usual ID checking systems. Lastly, while the app is well-designed, intuitive and responsive, it is missing key features such as Face ID for easy secure login and Pay ID for convenient instant transfers (though Osko is available which is good). I would still recommend the app/accounts if you are patient enough for some hassles, but would love to see the improvements to turn this into a good hassle-free experience.
