I gave it a 4 despite my true feelings lean more towards a 3. I hate the controls, the touch ones are worse and the How to has controls for all areas except for Aim it says it needs a controller only. When I use the controller on my APPLE TV the aim and walk modes is frustrating to me. I would imagine because of that, we lose the ability to use the ninja rope? I use to love to wending across the map. I also miss being able to customize the name of my teammates. I miss being able to add my own sound effects, but for Apple I understand. I wish you brought back more customization like how big the worm blows up and the damage it gives off and on the weapons as well. I want a map editor back. I miss the choice between Fire and Water. I also miss the sinking island. There are a lot of elements I miss from the PC or other phone versions that I am. It getting in a more polished Apple Arcade experience. I gave it a 4 because at the end of the day I love worms, it’s my childhood and I remember fun times with my cousins. 4 star on nostalgia but a 3 from a die hard fan. This game has always had the makings of being 5 star and for me that was worms 2.
Updated to 4 stars as it is better after getting used to it, although locking worm in place will help in certain moments they need an online multiplayer mode match, playing against AI is a bit boring after a while, so even though it’s gotten better, now it’s a bit boring and won’t play much longer. Seems like it would be easy to do —— Love the idea of this and played original game on PC. I don’t think this is meant for iPhone. Prob better for iPad at least. So many times when zoomed all the way out if I’m on the bottom I can’t control the strength/power of shot so it’s useless if I’m on the bottom of a level. If fired it would just hit myself. It keeps firing when I don’t want it to, and lastly I walked off a cliff trying to engage my worm by trying to shoot. Not sure the solution, but pretty pointless as is. Maybe if they gave the ability to lock a worm in place it could free up the control to use the full power/not accidentally walk off cliff trying to use
As a first time worms player I was happy to find out that…THIS GAME IS AWESOME! There’s easy to learn controls. A story mode. Quick matches. And up to 4 players can play together on local mode. There’s also character customization and special worms that have special abilities. This game is absolutely amazing and you should try it out.
