I got this app years ago but have only now begun to use it. It does just what I need it to do and, thank goodness, no more. I just turn it on, breathe along with the waves and concentrate on the orange ball. I love this app.
While this app may be helpful for someone who is learning to breathe in a more efficient pattern (deeper, more smoothly, choice of in and out duration), it doesn't have the flexibility to select a breathing pattern longer than 7 breaths per minute.
An excellent breath timer. It recommends a cardiac coherence timer but it should be built-in. There are plenty of HRV apps. Ideally, there should be a third version that adds Bluetooth LE support and that uses HRV data to automatically adjust the breath timing to achieve maximum coherence. As it is now, the user has to guess about what works-- which is much slower and frustrating than having an app that learns and figures out the ideal breath pattern for you.
