I NEVER write app reviews but felt like I needed to for this app. Long story short: I shopped for Taylor Swift tickets for her last American show. I checked out StubHub, SeatGeek, and Vivid, but the most reasonably priced ticket listing I found was on Viagogo. No big deal. This is not an app attribute rather just a marketplace dynamic. So I purchased without even researching the company because that anxiety-inducing timer nudged me to click Puchase. Afterwards I began sweating bullets as I was reading all the negative reviews about Viagogo, albeit mostly stupid feedback that the fees are too high but some feedback on buyers getting screwed. I found their 800 number (which wasn’t easy to find but just Google it), and on 2 separate occasions I got a friendly person in the Phils who were professional and reassured me that the seller had up until 2 hours before the event to transfer the tickets to me. This wasn’t particularly reassuring because by then I wouldn’t have any other options but I felt better after learning that much of this was due to Ticketmaster’s TS-specific 72 hour event window, anti-fraud measures and others have had similar anxieties. So we were planning to fly to Indy without knowing for sure if we were ever gonna get the tickets. Then 60 hours before the event I got the email from Ticketmaster that my tickets were ready for transfer to my account. I nervously transferred the tickets and when I saw the tickets show up in my Ticketmaster account and then in my Apple wallet, I finally felt good about the tickets. In summary, I can’t speak to other people‘s frustrations, but I can fairly say that Viagogo is legitimate and I would not hesitate to use this app again to buy tickets. I also found customer support accessible and helpful.
I recently used this app to purchase Ateez resale tickets and had zero issue! I was worried after I read all the reviews but decided to trust the process. If you end up buying any tickets make sure to read all the things they send you after. My tickets ended up getting sent to me through Ticketmaster but first I had to click the little hyperlink “view instructions” at the very bottom of the tickets receipt page, then hyperlink at the very bottom of the instructions page. That’s the link that sent me to ticketmaster where my tickets were waiting for me! Good luck!
Bought tickets to Madonna in Milan for November 2023. Realized in September 2023 I could not attend. Posted the tickets and they sold rather quickly. Tickets were transferred to me in October 2023 and that’s when Viagogo became a no go go. Viagogo is part of StubHub which is great, so buying from them I felt safe in my purchase. However, with my sales from the original owner could not change the name on the tickets from TicketMaster so I lost the sale and waiting a refund. I’ve called Viagogo six times and the calls have all been over 60 minutes with multiple transfers. Viagogo assures tickets and refunds. No where when I bought the tickets did it say not able to resell. Buying tickets 11 months out I would have never bought tickets that stated not able to resell. Also, I purchased four tickets at one time and the tickets came through as two orders which has added to the complications of my phone calls. If I don’t receive my full refund for my purchase price I will be filing a complaint with the AG office.
