Tyne Tunnels

I use the Tyne tunnels infrequently, but need to avoid having to pay for each journey (PAYG). The Tyne tunnel app allows me to register my cars and to deduct the toll fee from my account. It also allows me to set up automatic top-ups so that there is always enough £ in my account. That is where the good news ends. The payment section of the app are very poorly designed, particularly the auto top up section, which is buried deep and hard to find from the home page. My payment card expired yesterday and rather than being one or two clicks away from editing the expiry date and PIN with the nes card details, it took ages the find the right place in the app, then had to add new card, go back to saved cards to delete the expired one, then back to auto top up section to set it up all over again. Makes me feel that the developers of the app have never had to use auto top up themselves ( do they get free use of the tunnels as a job perk?) but also very poor management supervision of the app developers - I mean, who signed off the TT2 app as being fit for purpose? Before you try to add any more fancy feature like current journey times, the CEO should insist that fundamental app functions like paying for tolls are sorted out as a matter of priority

Wasn’t sure I was going to like on-line payment system but it is far better than the old toll booths, quick easy and straight forward. Well done Tyne Tunnels mission accomplished.
