Spotlight: Room Escape

It’s really not a terrible game. It’s just too difficult to be enjoyable. Having to watch more than one AD to get a hint is pretty ridiculous considering that it’s so hard to figure out the next step at some points that I HAVE to use a hint or I’m stuck. Also, the going back and forth between video hints and step by step hints within the game is pretty dumb on its own, as well as the “cut scenes” taking you to a browser to watch; it really should all be in the game itself. Also on getting hints, my inventory bar will disappear a lot of times whenever I watch an AD, whether from trying to get a hint or when I solves a particular puzzle. Overall, it is a pretty fun game with a really neat plot, but the steps are most times too difficult to solve on my own, and then when you try to get help, you have to watch anywhere between 1-6 different ADs, and then when you’re finally done, you have to force close the app and reopen it to use your inventory. I feel like these are minor inconveniences that are easily remedied and in doing so would make the game SO much better. I hope to see more games from this developer in the future and that they keep these things in mind when creating them.

The game has amazing puzzles and the graphics are nice but it tends to freeze in the middle of some of the puzzles and you have to completely exit the game and start the app over 🤦🏻‍♀️ it’s also frustrating when you are purchasing coins and it freezes and use your coins for nothing because the game decidesd to freeze it’s just a waste of money so I’m not going to purchase anymore coins until they fix this issue…..it would be nice to get some free hints maybe once a week as a bonus maybe do a 10 /20 minute thing where the hints are unlimited/ free for those minutes and it would be amazing to add the option to purchase an “ AD Free Version “ the ads are very annoying there’s just too many of them🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ other than the issues I just mentioned this is an amazing puzzle/ escape room game I will give it five stars if they fix some of the issue I mentioned 💯🙌🏼🤷🏻‍♀️💕🫶✨🥰

I’m currently replaying from the beginning because all of my progress has been lost. I’m somewhat okay with it because I have a chance to improve on old games, won’t hit any slow spots, and catching up to the game I left off on will jog my memory from previous moments I forgot, but it’s pretty annoying still. Also, I don’t think the developers know how combination locks work. Spoiler: something like “left 40” means that you turn to the left until you hit 40, NOT that you move 40 spaces from your current number. You can’t say “no math” in the clue and then do that. I also wish that when you ask for hints in a puzzle, it doesn’t automatically skip the puzzle. Sometimes I’m just not clear on the mechanics. Make the first-person character have a voice and “talk to themselves” if necessary. Some of the things are downright implausible (sure, freezing your wallet is a total normal thing to do…), but I do like most of the puzzles and I’m finding this helpful in preparing for an escape room I have coming up. I’ve tried several apps and so far this is the best and most similar to the last room I did.
