Shiren: Serpentcoil Island

a pretty decent mystery dungeon type game but difficulty level will put off most players. The game isn't complex but the many ways the game has massive rng based imbalances, sometimes you'll go many levels with bad gear or none at all, or miss with your attacks many times in a row. If you can't find a shield, even low levels monster will mop the floor with you. The point of the game is to die a lot, as that progresses storylines in between runs, but the game 100% abuses this. At starting levels (they reset with pretty much every adventure) missing an attack even once, or fighting more than one monster is a guaranteed defeat. you will other times make it about an hour before a bad status effect or perhaps a trap wipes you, wasting the whole time you played, and you do lose your inventory each time. they will say "oh you take the knowledge of run with you to do better next time" but that is SEVERE COPE to cover bad game structure. My fastest run was 13 seconds on kiki island, where the first step i took was onto a monster trap. In the post-game dungeons, you'll find yourself simply wasting hours without real progression or anything to show for it. Unfun.
