Iโve been playing this game since I was 6 or 7 on my Kindle fire. Iโve gotten the best stuff, max upgraded everything. However, there was once a time, many years ago where I was on the final boss fight against Titan, but I could never beat him. I left the game for a while. When I came back on my old phone, I had to restart my progress. I was heartbroken, but I carried on, and got back to where I had gone before, but it took too long, I guess I just didnโt play enough because it had already been 2 years. I got a new phone, my current one, and had to restart again because it didnโt save my progress. But again, I decided Iโd get back to where I was. The best part is, Iโm not even upset that I have to restart, I love this game so much that just the journey to the final fight is one that I can play over and over again. So Iโm day 3 into my third journey. Iโve already beaten all of Hermits bodyguards and beaten Lynx in eclipse. Anyway, please get this game, itโs not a huge power drain like a lot of other games, it gives you many many hours of fun with a healthy and good progression with armor and weapons. As well as a very high skill ceiling. Also, Iโve never spent a cent on this game, and Iโm still having tons of fun. Also, if you get this game, watch the gem videos for like 10 gems a day, itโs so worth it when thereโs a really good sale in the shop.
Iโm a HUGE fan of this game, so much so that when I reinstalled it recently and discovered Iโd forgotten to link it to my Game Center so Iโd lost all progress, my only thought was โgreat! I can rebuild my character better than before.โ ๐คฃ The opponents are challenging, much more so than in the Special Edition; at first I had to often back off in the middle of a round and approach more carefully, thinking about what moves to use. This all changed about halfway through Widowโs chapter, when something clicked and I was able to start moving on instinct. Now Iโm in Titanโs territory, counterattacking right through the middle of moves Iโve completely forgotten about. P.S. For those of you who thinks the game is instantly reacting to your next move- youโre right, it is. Now consider how you can use that to bait out moves from the AI that you can punish. Doing a single low kick lets you recover stupidly fast, leading into a high kick that strikes nearly as quickly. TIP 2: any time an enemy is on the offensive, if itโs too dangerous to punish their moves, constantly move slowly backwards- itโll make them miss some of their attacks, not every time, but enough to give you openings to knock them over. TIP 3: find a weapon you enjoy using and drag it along with you as you level up; even if the upgrade cost is higher than buying the current levelโs weapon, having a weapon youโve fully mastered is more than worth it. Iโm beating the fastest weapons in the game with a katana because Iโm so familiar with the katana that risks are no longer risks with it.
When I got this game, it was really addictive, combat was awesome, and as a history buff it was cool to see all of the weapons of that era, and the story was very interesting, but now the cons. First once you beat every body guard for a boss, by then the boss is way to strong, so you have to grind a little to get your gear better, but the problem is that itโs based on a level system, you can only upgrade your equipment a certain amount of times until you have to level up, that isnโt a problem until you realize that all the major levels that have given you the most exp have already been beaten, so you are stuck playing one game mode until you finally level up, secondly, challengers can appear to you once per chapter, and my problem with this is that you have no warning about it, once you beat a certain amount of tournament stages, they appear, and if you donโt have your toughest gear on, or you didnโt prepare enough, you have to say goodbye to the awesome weapons they give you. And thirdly, when you buy a special weapon, they cost gems, like in my example you get a version of a katana for 23 gems, I donโt think thatโs a problem because the game is free and they need to make money somehow, what I do have a problem with is that if you level up, you can upgrade your special weapon, but soon you need to used gems to upgrade it even further, why would I need to essentially buy it again, if I already had to? Some of these items are pretty high, like 225, so I guess you need to pay a similar price just to make it viable as a weapon? Even though it has its flaws, I love this game, and I would recommend this to anyone
The game is overall good, but the one complaint I have is the encounter mechanic where you reach a certain range of levels and somebody approaches and challenges you. To start this off, the enemy is WAY too hard. Typically impossible, insane if lucky, and itโs one of those โIf you get hit more than 3-4 times, youโre dead but you have to hit me at least 40 times, and also, you still lose 1/5 of your health if you blockโ impossible. There is an option where you can go to the shop and buy yourself a new weapon or armor to help you out, but every time I didnโt have any money to do anything so I donโt see much point in that. If you upgraded your equipments frequently, you might win, but if youโre one of those people that save up their money to upgrade your weapon to the next level without repeating survival mode more than 10 times, youโre not in luck. And every time you try to walk away after you lost, May will stop you telling not to, giving you a reason. When this happened to me in act 6, she said that I canโt let anyone have a doubt in my identity, which made me feel like I was screwing up the entire storyline and made me feel guilty, even though I tried my best using all the gems I had to retry the battle. And also you need to realize that you canโt fight these guys again. No chance; you lose, you will never get the exclusive weapon, no retry after you walk away. I think how yโall designed the encounter mechanic is pretty unfair.
Shadow Fight 2 is by far my favorite mobile game of all time. I have maxed out gear and levels and have the tempest rage legendary enchantment and a medium enchantment on all of my gear. I've been reading the reviews of the game, and people are saying that the CPU spamming ranged attacks is making the game hard to play. I can say from personal experience that this is not something that is broken or even something that puts you at a disadvantage. The controls are designed so that you can avoid these attacks and take advantage of the opening they create to start a chain of your own. Additionally, there are no issues with moves not activating as I saw in another review. In the 3+ years I had this game I never experienced any issues with the controls at all. It is very stable and will run smoothly and without bugs even on my 5S. It does require a ton of grinding to complete the game, but although I did spend $7 on microtransactions in appreciation of Nekki and the game, it is certainly possible to complete without spending any money. That being said, SF3 isn't too far off now and I don't think it is feasible to complete the game before it comes out. I would wait for that to come out or play this game casually for practice because the controls will have the same basic concept.
