Remote Control for Sony TVs

Sony TV with AppleTV and want to control it from your phone in one place? This is the app without 1,000 different gimmicks. It does everything I want but one thing which is not remotely a showstopper, the 15s forward/back buttons. Other than that I find this a one stop app to do everything I want with my Sony TV with AppleTV. To get on my soapbox for a moment, I agree with another review I read. This person built this app with their own blood, sweat, and tears. Nothing in life is free so either deal with the ads or buy the app. Stop whining that they should spend their time to make something free for you to use.

Pay the few bucks for the app. In a perfect world the app would only be available for purchase. I really don’t like when the cheaper apps like this one have a free version. It makes it seem like a worse app than it is. It really works well. I only wish iPhone had the IR sensor so they could power on my device as well. Perhaps have an option to buy one for a cheap price with the purchase of the app. Anyway I’m happy with it.

Let me start by saying that all of the complaints about the ads on the free version should be immediately dismissed. Someone spent their time and resources developing this app and you should be thankful they even have a free version. Instead of being an entitled brat that expects a free handout, how about you pony up FIVE DOLLARS and support the developer? This will accomplish a few things: 1. It will incentivize the developer to improve the app 2. You won’t see ads 3. You’re supporting a small business 4. Maybe, just maybe, you’ll start approaching life with an “earn it” mentality and actually make something of yourself Anywho, all sermons aside, the app works well. I experience some lag every once in a while. This isn’t a huge deal since I mainly use the app when I’m holding my child and can’t grab the actual remote. For $5, this is a value-add that I really appreciate.
