We misplaced our Sony remote about a week ago. Looked everywhere. Downloaded this app and we were like super excited to finally be able to watch our tv again. Godsend! But.. haha hella ads. It gets the job done for sure as in on/off but if you’re trying to scroll, or fast forward/rewind it will get interrupted with ads!! Haha I rewound and entire episode of Loki trying to get through an ad. Worth it if you’re desperate I suppose. Definitely gives incentive to find the lost one.

I downloaded this to use on my Sony Bravia TV. It did indeed connect and I think it was able to access most of the features on the original remote. The problem is that there were ads within just a few minutes of using the app. And one of those ads was a phishing scam app that pretended to be a message from iOS about my phone storage being full. And there is a choice to clean your iPhone. I did not click it because I knew that my storage is not full and I’ve never seen a message like this in years of iPhone use. I can only imagine if someone who is less savvy would have seen this ad and ended up installing some kind of bug or data opening. So because of that I deleted the app immediately. It’s one thing to see an advertisement from a sponsor it’s another to see scams embedded into an app.

The ads were horribly intrusive. They came up every 2-5 inputs, so trying to type when searching on my TV with this app was impossible. It was a good app, even with the ads, for quickly going to a movie on my Apple TV account, BUT since the new update, the enter button is now behind the already expensive paywall. The hundreds of ads weren’t enough, apparently. Now, I can’t even use the app to select and start a movie, even if I have to sit through 5 ads after pressing a few buttons.
This app is extremely expensive, by the way, paying up to $5 a WEEK to use your phone as a remote. There’s no way to pay for it indefinitely. The only option is for a subscription to use the app for a certain amount of time. As a software developer, there’s no need to keep charging for such a basic application.

- Length: Yearly-Monthly-Weekly
- Payment will be charged to iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase
- You will be able to access the Premium features of the app for the duration of the subscription
