Let me start off by saying Iโm not opposed to in app purchasing, however making it so that the game is unplayable is not fair when calling it a free game, just come out as a paying game from the beginning or definitely do not update it in such a way that people donโt want to play it anymore, when I started playing Peak, the presence of ads was obvious, and if you wanted to replay a game you could watch an ad by choice, otherwise the game was pretty ad free if you didnโt go about watching them yourself, it just really irritates me when a game goes out of its way to shove ads down your throat, much in the way Peak now does. After every click to continue your very limited already daily challenge, there is now an ad that plays for 30 seconds that you cannot skip, the screen clearly shows โan ad will play if you want to replayโ and yet no matter what you press the ads bombard you, I understand companies need to make money and employees need to get paid for producing this game, but as Iโve already stated, make it a game you have to pay for, be that the case I would of paid for it, I mean as it is I am considering just paying for it as this really is becoming something I no longer can deal with, I enjoy playing it but am unfortunately more likely to just delete the app entirely because these types of changes can only be seen as what they are. Flash back 2 weeks ago and the ads werenโt even an issue, I think I hadnโt even had to watch a single ad through Peak at all, and now, itโs just everywhere, all the time thereโs some or another ad playing.
Wow... Iโm so glad I found this app. I was in a bad car accident a year and a half ago and my brain got seriously smashed up. As a result my memory (mostly short term) and math skills disappeared. Iโve been using Peak for about 2 months and I see significant changes in my memory abilities. Just a few weeks ago I was still telling any new person I talked to that I might lose my train of thought and I always felt self-conscious about my memory skills because it was so apparent when you spoke with me that they still hadnโt recovered. And just yesterday I realized that I havenโt had to excuse my poor memory to anyone lately, and in fact I go days where I donโt remember itโs an issue (not because my memory is bad but because itโs no longer such a problem!). And because of this app I actually learned that my math skills disappeared. I always just thought my mind was being lazy but when I saw it first hand how hard it was for me to do simple math on this app I saw the problem. It was really troubling and embarrassing when I realized - I used to be good at math - but Iโve been slowly getting better. So essentially this app has been my brain rehab! And I couldnโt be more happy about my progress! Thank you!!!
Iโm one of those child prodigy genius turned horribly depressed adults, wondering why my brain quit working like it used to. Iโve been training for a couple months now, with my highest streak being 41. I can actually feel myself getting better and better. My memory in everyday life is better, I can focus on my tasks much easier, Iโve started having a MUCH easier time relating to others, and my once horrendous problem solving skills are through the roof. I can tell in everyday life as I come to better solutions much faster than I normally would have. I only have two scores below 400 now (total score above 500) and Iโm so very proud of myself. Looking at the progress Iโve made is astonishing. The brain is a muscle like any other. If you want it to be fit, you must train like you do with the rest of your body. Iโve done brain games in the past but lost momentum because the games were just not that fun and it was the same game every day. With Peak, thereโs so many different options to chose from and you never really get bored. I do have a few games I dislike playing because Iโm not good at them, but itโs easy to remind myself why that means theyโre the most important to do. I HIGHLY recommend this app to anyone struggling. My depression and anxiety have gotten much more manageable as well, but Iโve been putting in my own separate work for that on top of the training.
