The game is almost there. Art is good, mechanics are good, itโs just the controls are super jank. There was an update 5 days ago and Iโm amazed that that counts as โimprovedโ controls. You need a way to select multiple units instead of fighting with the camera and moving one at a time. Units donโt attack unless you command them to and if youโre fighting with controls itโs hard to even select the right unit. Thereโs way too much going on to be able to play the game because of these controls. I played for 10 minutes and gave up. Please fix these controls. I really want to give this game a shot. I also hate feeling like I wasted my money.
Positive point : Art is great. Negative points : controls are super clunky, have the devs played the game? Scrolling is terrible, unnatural , unit/building selection is terrible, units control is terrible. Thatโs quite a dealbreaker. Also storytelling could see some improvements, itโs very basic uninspired dialogues. And combat is too fast paced and messy, coupled with the terrible control, thereโs not much that can be done once the combat starts, by the time you can do something, the deciding moment of the battle is already past. Lot of potential, graphic/style is great, but need a lot more refinement before I update my rating. Edit: I finished the game. The plot is bit better than expected but dialogue is still very basic. The gameplay is fun but not very complex. Units are not balanced at all, you end up with just making armies of trebuchet and sweep through the game. After finishing the game, I actually donโt see as much potential as I thought. Fun game to play but donโt expect too much strategy.
Unfortunately, the art style is about all I can say this game has going for it right now. The controls are really bad. Instead of scrolling, you tap one end of the screen and the camera rockets past what you wanted to select until you let go. When you are able to select a unit, they only go where you want them to half the time, and thereโs no indication why their movement doesnโt work the other half of the time. In the first level, my units kept running away from where I was telling them to go. I would reselect their target, and they would briefly head back that direction before immediately resuming their run to home base. This caused me to lose the battle, but for some reason the game continued as if I had won. Then in the next level, youโre supposed to be fleeing, but the controls just donโt really allow for that in their current implementation. Hopefully a fix is on the way, but this should never have been released as is.
