I’ve never been inclined to provide an online rating, however, for this particular product and app I made an exception. Grandparents purchased these for our kids and they are the worst - the App doesn’t store the card history (or when there’s an App update) so I kept having to enter the card numbers to work out how much we spent. After multiple fails to spend this online, I had to give my kids the cash and spend the money in store at B&Q and Nando’s who took the time to deduct the money and then charge me from the extra costs. The concept is good - however, in practice nothing works and information is wiped from the app so you can’t work out the outstanding value. So annoying and so much money wasted, as other users have said they are quick to expire - one way the company could improve (if they wished to) is to generate monthly notifications to flag when vouchers expire. Waste of time and money over the years. Stay clear or ensure you spend immediately!
The app is easy to use to store your one for all cards onto Apple Pay. It’s just that the cashiers don’t understand much about these debit cards and don’t think they can allow for these to be used. I had to call the manager so that I could get the transaction through. The app itself works as needed, you might just have problems with the payment because the cashiers don’t understand what to do.
First, if you don’t use the card for 18 months, they will start taking 90p per month off the balance. You can’t find out the balance at any retailers. If you attempt to buy anything that costs more than the balance, the card will be declined without explanation. You can’t use another method of payment to top up a purchase, and you can’t add more money to the card. If you end up with a small balance on the card you either have to buy something at or under that value or lose the rest of the money. Note that for online purchases you have to treat it as a visa debit card rather than a gift card, as it will not work as a gift card. I tried to buy something from the Ikea website for less than the balance on the card, and by entering the number as a visa debit card rather than a gift card, as per One4All’s instructions, but could not get the payment to work, despite several attempts. I finally ended up buying a £4 item from Boots, with a £1.50 collection fee which with multiple 90p inactive card charges meant I got £4 worth of product from what was originally a £20 gift card. I feel that the person who gave us the card as a gift wasted their money, but I don’t want to upset them by telling them. Do not buy these gift cards!
