Reasonable app for viewing status of my Nissan Qashqai J12. Allows me to easily see the lock status, unlock/lock remotely and flash the lights/sound the horn to assist finding the car (although the map showing the cars location assists with this). It would be better if the map showing the car could be switched to satellite view as it would make it much easier to identify nearby points in the map to help identify the exact location. The driving history seems to have a bug where it shows double the amount of trips. The mileage and time driven are accurate though. Overall it isn’t an app I’ll use very often as the features are very limited. The only remotely useful feature is the remote lock/unlock (pun intended) just in case I’ve gone somewhere and am not sure if I remembered locking the car. This is only free for 3 years though so unless it’s very cheap it isn’t something it be too fussed about losing after 3 years.
This App and who ever controls and runs it, should be absolutely ashamed of them selfs. PS all I hear on here from Nissan response is more ignorants and excuses. The Nissan connect team, treat there customers like children.I brought a brand new Nissan X Trail. Got it in the 1st week of March with 21 plate. I am over the moon with it, fantastic car, only had 8 miles on clock. Then I tried to connect to this App, it did not recognise my VIN number. I scanned it and entered it manually. I thought maybe because it’s a brand new car, that was the reason. So I emailed Nissan explaining. 10 days later I get a reply. I thought it was a dodgy email. It was unprofessional and rude. Just asking for so much information, that I sent in email already. Did not look professional with no Nissan logo. Just a badly written reply. So I tried the App again, same response, did not recognize VIN number, so I phoned the number on App. No answer. Then to my surprise I phoned again and got into the middle of a conversation between a Nissan rep and customer, while this poor person was giving all there personal information. I put down the phone and was totally untrusting of Nissan security. That could have been me being listened to. If your basic security is rubbish, how can I trust this App. I won’t be phoning back or using this App. Totally ruined my experience of buying a new car and I will let as many people as possible know how bad NissanConnect is.
I’ve struggled to get this app to work but think I may have found a partial way. Here’s my experience: It took many goes to get registered etc. I put this down to poor capacity at Nissans servers - perhaps exacerbated by UK Coronavirus lockdown. Who knows. Anyway, once registered, over a period of 3 days trying the app every couple of hours I only managed to ‘get on’ and get vehicle info - once!! I completely closed the app on my iPhone after each use. However today I opened the app around 9am. Surprise, surprise it fully worked. I then retried the app every hour this morning - without closing it - just keeping it in the background of my iPhone. It worked each time, refreshed and gave accurate info (I checked in the vehicle, a 2020 Leaf). Trust this is helpful to others. But to Nissan I say: “Get your act together and develop an app that works the way your web advertising and info say it will. Many of us have spent big money buying your Leafs - often influenced by that advertising. Or should we customers raise this with the Advertising Standards Agency? Given other comments in the public arena about your app (all poor) this is not a new problem! Please sort it.
