Newbook

Platform is glitching with every task you attempt. Never saves edits. Always losing connection when you’re trying to upload something. Takes days to weeks to get your profile up at all, and if they reject you they don’t tell you, they just leave it in “pending” territory forever. It’s so hard to navigate, i forget it all together when it comes to looking for jobs. i repeatedly try to link my instagram and it never saves. it’s still not linked. there’s zero communication between the platform and yourself. It navigates as if it was developed 10 years ago and never touched since. Literally Piano Tiles is developed better than this. i don’t know how people are actually managing to find business through here; it’s completely unusable. It markets itself like it’s accessible for new models, but i don’t agree with that at all either. There is so little information about yourself you can actually upload, unless you have a few killer campaign shots to go at the top, good luck. Definitely would’ve got more out of putting this energy into another platform. I feel like new models would have more success going back to surfing Backstage.

The app is rated 12+ someone who is 13 and over should be able to use the app, correct? well… this app has been out for at least six years from what I know and according to the app it’s still in a “ pilot phase” and during it it’s not allowed to let any users under the age of 18 join the platform that does not make sense at all. How it the at pilot stage after being out for about six years and why is the rating incorrect if you’re planning to let people 12+ join then maybe fix the app. I was overjoyed when I first saw this app because it is hard to find mother agencies and just start a portfolio for yourself at a young age since most models start modelling at 18. Me personally though I’ve only modelled very small projects and don’t have a portfolio so I wanted to get started via this app and have some sort of agency help guide me book to bigger people once I came of age. Well clearly that doesn’t seem to be the route this app takes. If anyone knows if this is a bug then let me know.

Newbook is a great platform to use as a professional model. Clients are well vetted and you can choose to submit yourself to public posts, as well as receive direct requests from clients. You’re able to set your own rates, upload your own portfolio, and upload your own digitals. I love that they only take 10% as a fee compared to 20% with a traditional agency. Payments are made quickly right after jobs have been completed, which is also nice to not wait as you would with a traditional agency. I met so many great and consistent clients through Newbook that I am extremely grateful for. The Newbook team is professional and kind! I highly recommend.
