I am a patient of The Brigham & Womens Hospital Pain Clinic and have been a chronic pain patient there for 31 years. In my early days of suffering from Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, the availability of devices to help fight pain were few and far between. I must admit that with all the treatments I have had done and now have to do, positive results have made my life whole again! Patient participation is very important in a multi-disciplinary approach. I have had numerous procedures performed over the years and my participation was crucial for obtaining anything positive. Psychology is important because dealing with severe pain for some, constantly, day in and day out is very, very difficult to your thoughts. I owe my life to the doctors at the BWH. I now have an implanted pain pump applying a constant dose of medications into my spinal chord helping me deal with my pain. This app is a great tool for gathering data from many different people dealing with all types of illnesses. The common factor for all is pain. I am fortunate to have direct contact to physicians involved with this app and am great full for my participation in gathering helpful information. Thank you to the staff at the BWH Pain Clinic for all your years of helping people in pain. Sincerely, Michael
