I put many hours into this game and really enjoyed playing it. Purchases seemed fair, gems are earnable rather nicely outside of MTX. I decided to support the game by making a few purchases, and it was good until they overcharged me and then banned me for seeking a refund of the additional charges only. I was charged 3 times for a daily pack only purchasable once a day. I sought a refund from Apple and it was granted. 2 days later, my account was banned for the refund. I brought this up to the dev, and was responded to with the reasoning and a temporary account to pay the refunded amount back and then they would reinstate my account. They cited Apple’s App Store processing on US time as the issue. Admittedly, the way the App Store runs charges in groups is poorly designed and executed, but this was not the problem this time. I had no pending charges, and when proof was furnished of this fact, the response was effectively an auto-reply blaming the App Store once more. They got my money this time, but no more. Uninstalling the app, as I will not support any dev ripping players off.
There are certainly things that I enjoy about the game. It feels much more accessible than “Idle Heroes” and keeps things simple so I don’t feel like there’s 1000 tasks to do everyday. However, this game quickly becomes unenjoyable for F2P players. If you choose not to spend your hard-earned money, prepare to get stuck for several days or even a weeks. If you do not spend hundreds of dollars on this game, you will not be able to regularly progress in the campaign or other game modes, and you certainly won’t be able compete with other players. I started playing the game the 2nd day after it released, and new players are able to join the server and quickly surpass me simply by getting out their credit card. Players are able to spend money to improve in every aspect of the game. Players can endlessly increase their power. There are no caps. As long as you have the cash, you can continue growing gaining strength. The heroes in this game are clear imitations of popular video game characters that have generic names, such as “warlock” and “snow hunter.” As far as dynamic gameplay goes, there is none… which is somewhat expected in idle games such as this, however there is also no strategy or critical thinking involved. Also, it is obvious that AI was used to create characters, backgrounds, etc… because there is an obvious lack of theme and consistency behind the artwork and designs. Save your money and play a real game.
As a rule, I do not write reviews, but my experience with this game has been exceptional. Given its relatively recent release, some technical issues are inevitable, but I am optimistic about future updates. My sole suggestion would be to accelerate the server merge process, as the prevalence of inactive players has resulted in a lack of competition, rendering the game somewhat unengaging. This issue appears to be server-wide. Additionally, the incorporation of loadouts would greatly enhance gameplay. It would also be beneficial to establish a system for removing players who have been inactive for an extended period. Overall, I highly recommend this game, as it offers excellent value for the time and money invested.
