At first glance this appears to be a free app to learn Python. But the app is gimped, you are not allowed to go past the first few lessons of the basic concepts, because rest are covered by a message saying there is a “newer version available”. You cannot click on the other lessons, nor can you click on the other chapters. Clicking on the new version takes you another app from the developer with the same programming languages lessons but to get anywhere requires a paid subscription. I have no problems with paid products, businesses need to make money. What I can’t stand are these deceptive marketing that offer “free” stuff but when you try to use it, you get diverted to paying. The annual subscription they want is a paltry amount. Had the developers just been upfront and simply offered this as a paid product, I would have bought it. Instead I have found one of their competitors who are forthright about their product and don’t try to lure you in with “free free free”, and given them my money.
All of the apps from this company are works of art. Completely free, and provides an intuitive approach to teaching you the basics of any programming language of your choosing. Truly great. And I can't leave out how helpful the community is! At the end of each lesson, if you're left with questions, press the "Discussions" button below and more than likely that question has already been asked with great feedback! I just want to emphasize how this app is free and it's better than many paid apps.
I was on vacation when I got this app, for my parents did not allow me to bring my computer with me, so that meant that I couldn't use Python on my computer. I decided that because I'm a beginner, it wouldn't hurt me if I brushed up some of my coding skills, so I downloaded this app. When I started using this app I found that it was very helpful, and that although I already knew most of these concepts, it was very well written and easy to follow. One of the main things I enjoy about this app is that I can put my coding skills to the test by challenging other users on the app, and that I can learn from other users with online discussions, and comments. I think that the only problem with this app, is that it can sometimes be hard to push some of the buttons on the screen, but overall it's a very good app, so that's why I am giving this app a 5 star review, and I'd definitely recommend this app to any beginners to coding.
