Reviews: What People Think About Py - Learn to Code

I’m currently trying to learn Swift, and so far Py one of the best apps I’ve come across. I love how it teaches you a concept, lets you test it out for yourself, and then tests you to make sure you understand everything at the end. However, there are a few bugs, like when you leave the app, it sometimes freezes when you get back on it, and sometimes the questions don’t load completely and you have to leave the course and go back in. Overall, though, it’s really great and I look forward to using it to learn Swift and other coding languages!!

Overall my experience with Py had been good. I’d recommend it as a supplemental learning resource for people who already have some background in coding and want to reinforce existing understanding. I’ve completed most of the free learning paths with a few exceptions. The Data Analyst path is the most interesting to me, but unfortunately images of the graphs do not load on my iPhone, so I can’t see the examples or take the quizzes for this path. Also, I wish the oaths offered more samples of each concept they are trying to teach. Most of the lessons I wouldn’t have been able to complete if it was my first time coding - you can’t teach conditionals or loops in a few sentences, it takes practice to understand how these concepts play out, and I wish Py had more reference articles or more example problems to reinforce these concepts. I haven’t bought the premium content for this reason - I’m worried I’ll buy it but it will lack detailed explanations of advanced concepts which will be necessary to retain the knowledge.

I rarely write reviews, especially in such a negative light, but I’m hoping this will actually reach the support team. I’m honestly a bit shocked to see so many positive reviews. I initially purchased the app to continue with their python path, which I admittedly enjoyed. However for a somewhat steep price for a mobile app, the value return very quickly proved to lower than I expected, with the courses quickly ending before any deeper subject matter was reached. Now this certainly does not merit a 1 Star review. What does merit such vitriol is the fact that the assets in the data science path simply do not load. No graphs or images, nothing that will allow me to progress in the lesson or indeed use the app at all. Even this is somewhat understandable, things break, I was waiting for a fix while I notified the support team. What has really disappointed and indeed angered me is the complete lack of concern from support itself. After multiple emails asking for help and pointing out the broken features with some screenshots, I’ve yet to receive even an acknowledgement of the problem. A complete waste of money, completely unreasonable treatment. Shame on them.
