I’ve been an avid follower of the Law Nerd since the Amber Heard and Johnny Depp trial. I’ve watched several live trials, and EDB is fantastic at breaking down all the details. Some people may need to get used to her commentary, as it can often seem like she’s talking over or interrupting the fluidity of the trial itself. However, I’ve come to love every second because she truly has a knack for absorbing, processing and sharing the legal details that help us understand what’s happening. The app itself is fantastic because she takes into account that people that may want to be notified of very specific parts of the trial as opposed to watching it in its entirety. Love it. I’m a fan.
Please update for WatchOS 10 and later (series 8/9). When I get a notification on my watch, it shows the Law Nerd icon and says “Emily…..has sent you a message” and the only option is the “Dismiss” button. There is no option to open/read or view the message. It should (also) have a “Read” or “View” (the message) button. I’ve checked for more options by scroll and swipe, nothing. I only have my watch on-hand at work most times, so having the ability to view its messages would be extremely helpful. Other than that, the app is perfect.
As a former systems analyst, I have nothing but praise for the Law Nerd app. Setup was quick and straightforward, and navigation is intuitive. Clearly the app has been designed for the seamless addition of new features. My top requests: 1. A calendar showing Members Only events (including weekly BTS podcast recording sessions,) Emily’s blackout dates for travel, Emily’s appearances on other channels or platforms, and of course the regular livestreams and podcast drops. Ideally we could filter/search by topic/case as well as by type of event. 2. Ongoing live chat, so we can keep talking regardless of a stream’s being over. 3. Brief descriptions, links, and promo codes for all current sponsorship deals. Development team, take your time as you continue adding onto this fantastic product. Version 1.0 has set the bar very high, which bodes very well for whatever you have in mind for the future.
