After days of working on my photo book, I got to the point of hitting the “buy” button and got an error message! It took 116 of my photos out of the draft and I had to go back and add them (those that I could remember) back in. Could you not check for user errors when I saved the draft?? Did you have to wait until I had put in days of work? Also, there were numerous annoying bugs. You can’t use an apostrophe anywhere in a paragraph (it inserts multiple annoying spaces), if you try to move a photo and it fails, the photo “sticks” and you have to get out of the app to get rid of it (I even had to restart my computer at one point). Sometimes when you try to edit a page and add more photos, it puts them on a separate page altogether. The date is always too big. I wanted my page titles to be larger than the dates, but you don’t have control over that. You are given layout options, but many times they weren’t exactly what I wanted. Since you can only move same-sized photos around, it limits your creativity. My final product arrived today. I was disappointed in the quality (one of the pages is dislodged from the book at the top!). The interface could be great if they performed better pre-release end user testing.

I tried several photo book apps, but this one was by far the easiest to use. I had a large number of photos (hundreds) and the auto layout feature of this app did a great job of placing my photos. The photos were organized with like subjects together in order of the date taken, and I could easily modify a page or select photos to be full page. I liked that by default the photos were placed with multiple photos on a page - other apps I tried placed 1-2 photos on most pages, which didn’t work for my large number of photos. This app automatically added maps and dates that I could edit or remove, and I easily added notes and captions where I wanted. I could easily change a page’s layout if needed. Once I ordered the book, it came quickly and was well protected in the package. And it is beautiful! The book now lives on our coffee table and has gotten many compliments. I am very happy with my experience with this company.

I ordered an album of our vacation pictures on Journi Print. The order was processed, but nothing has happened since then regarding the production of the book . There is no way to communicate with an actual person. You have to talk with a “bot” and get nowhere. The bot actually said it could not find my order or email. Twice, I said I wanted to speak to an actual person. To do that, I received (twice) emails containing the conversations with the bots. I replied and explained that my order had not been processed, and couldn’t be “found,” according to the bot. HOWEVER, MY CREDIT CARD HAS BEEN CHARGED FOR THIS ORDER. I have not heard from anyone to try and resolve this problem. I was hoping for a nice album, but it appears this site is just a scam. Since it is an app, I think people should be made aware. EDITED: My album arrived today and it is nicely done. Someone, Tina, finally contacted me and things were taken care of immediately. So, it’s all good. I bought a hard copy album and it is put together very well. I will order again sometime. I’m only giving 4 stars due to the difficult communication process with the bot.
