Since they canโt figure out how to get their battery management system to work correctly when thereโs multiple expansion batteries rather than fix that core significant problem they just removed it entirely from the app so thereโs no way to actually know how much total power you have. You see the percentage only for the main unit. No data whatsoever anymore for the expansion batteries. If theyโre gonna hide the battery management problem, I mean, bare minimum at least like get an average of all the batteries and display that so owners have some idea whatโs actually available and can adjust their use accordingly. It also loses all of your data if you have to rebind, even if you connected to the exact same unit with the same serial number. So all your previous state of your solar generation and how many effective trees youโve saved gets totally reset to zero. Tracking that was probably the only cool thing. Everything else is well below not just the app but the system.
Latest version (1.1.8) seems to have introduced some bugs. Specifically, the UI state seems unstable. For example, the battery charge % sometimes does not match the reading on the front panel. This seems to happen when you close and later return to the app. In addition, the state of the AC output enable switch sometimes does not match setting on front panel of device - this even if it was set via the app itself! I suppose these issues could be caused by a problem with my device rather than the app but the device panel states seem accurate so this seems to be an app issue. Other problem is that app gets into a lockout state when trying to establish a wifi link and the cloud does not respond i timely manner. Symptom is wifi counts to some value less than 100 and then stalls seemingly waiting on the cloud even though the device front panel reflects a connection to wifi. If you then quit the app because it is locked up, and then restart the app, it canโt connect to the device because it wants to connect via BT but device tho is itโs on wifi. This requires some amount of restarting things and possibly unbinding again. Itโs just in an unhappy state and takes some effort to get things back on track. But itโs ok when it works.
The remote control buttons in this app have about a 50% chance of working and are extremely slow. Light, DC on/off, AC on/off etc. And the indicators on the app (light on/off for example) are usually inaccurate. Someone was trying to hit a deadline and gave the green light to push this app without caring about itโs negative impact on consumers. Shame on whoever did that, probably not the developers. Just got my first Jackery - 300 plus, and while I am liking it, this companion app left me salty. In addition to the bugs there isnโt much you can do with this app other than monitor the same stats shown already on the screen. Ideally you could do something useful like set alerts to notify on certain charging / discharging thresholds.
