The log in/log out of call queue function does not work at all. On PC, I can set my queue status independently from my availability. On the iPhone app, if I try to log out of the queue or back in with the blue person with headphone icon, and then I verify on desktop my queue status, it doesn’t change it. I have to ensure I’m logged in on desktop and then if I want to log out of the queue on my phone, I must set my status to do not disturb. There have been times that I went days without being logged into the queue until one of my coworkers pointed it out and I determined the cause of the issue. Also, it has integrations with Siri Shortcuts, but they don’t always work. First, there’s the above-mentioned issue. Second, the command to “set status!” for example does not work unless the app is already open. Third, it has to wait to connect to be able to set your status. So instead of a handy shortcut where I push one button and set my queue status and availability all in one go, I have my shortcut 1. Open 3CX 2. Wait several seconds for it to connect 3. Set queue status (based on the pipe dream that I can control that from my phone). 4. Set availability. It is barely better than doing it manually. Only benefit is I have it set up as an automation, so it reminds me to do it every day. Also, there are two call interfaces. One if your phone is locked and one if the app is open on your screen. This may be a limitation imposed by Apple, but I wish they would have parity between these interfaces at minimum in where the control buttons are and how big they are. The Lock Screen interface has better button placement (further apart from each other) but less functionality.
My company has been using this app since the start of the pandemic for everyone to work from home. I really enjoyed working from home and this app a lot at first because I could have my AirPods in to answer calls leaving me hands free to type. However since I updated to IOS 16 there are definite issues. I thought it was my original AirPods or my iPhone 12 at first, but I’ve upgraded both my iPhone and AirPods and I’m still having issues. Customers are constantly telling me that they can’t hear me, my connection is breaking up, or that I sound muffled. Additionally if I use without AirPods, my phone does not go dark like it does with regular iPhone calls. However if I call someone outside of the app it’s crystal clear. Not sure what’s happening, but someone better fix it because I really don’t want to go back into my office.
Amending my rating to one star and hopefully catch the attention within development. We have an installation with several soft phones. The problem is the 3CX app will stop receiving phone calls, chats and notifications if the app is not opened within a given 7 day period. After 7 days of inactivity 3CX PBX stops the push and the extension appears as “not registered”. There is NO indication on the user’s phone that the 3CX app is in this state. In other words, the app you download to provide a VoIP line stops working after 7 days of inactivity. No incoming service. The workaround is to open the app within every 7 day timeout. So how about a simple enhancement that detects 5 or 6 days of inactivity and pushes a notification to the app like an “inactivity notice”. The user opens the app to see the notification and a new 7 day timer is started. But more importantly the app still works and provides constant VoIP services as expected .
