This app sends nonstop notifications to my phone every time someone scratches their nose, BUT when I tap the notification to see it, it just gives the spinning icon like it’s loading, but it NEVER OPENS. So then I go to the app itself to tap on that video specifically, and it STILL doesn’t open it. I’m on strong wifi and it still doesn’t work. The other day, AT 3:19 IN THE MORNING, an eighteen-wheeler drove onto our property, only 50 feet in front of one of the cameras, at 10 mph, and the camera DID NOT SEND A NOTIFICATION! I only knew about it because I watched the fast replay later. Then when I scrolled to that time stamp, I saw the truck approaching, but MeShare decided to cut out part of the video, so the truck just disappeared, and the time stamp jumped a few seconds forward. Then a few seconds later, the truck came back by the camera, AGAIN, DID NOT TRIGGER A NOTIFICATION, and again, MeShare thought the event so unimportant that it AGAIN clipped forward and missed part of the truck driving by, so it looked like it disappeared into thin air another time. I have the full subscription so there should be no issue like this to access the full video footage. Bottom line is that if you want security, you’ll need to invest in cameras that actually work. If you want to be notified of every spider web that moves, but NOT be notified of something as big as an eighteen-wheeler on your property, this is the camera to waste your money on.
Update: I did call customer service. Spoke to them twice. They said there’s zero compatibility for Apple users and they asked me to login on a “special” website and pay and they promised to go find my account at a later time to credit me. I asked them to just pay over the phone but they said they had no ability to do that. Looks like this app needs ALOT of help to be usable as they offer on their app. There was a considerable amount of time dealing with the confusion. No customer should have to PROVE they had an offer on the app that is KNOWN by customer service to be a valid offer. Tried to sign up for Cyber Monday 50% off deal. Apparently purchasing iCloud service doesn’t work with IPhone or Itunes. Called and was told it is known. They tried sending me to another website to buy iCloud & if I PROVE they offered the 50% off on the app (through screenshots) they’ll refund half the money. Their customer service literally shuts down at closing time and reps have to get off FAST despite helping resolve the problem you called in. Usability: without the iCloud purchase, the IPhone video app errors and fails when an alert comes through every time. You have to go out, refresh, then try again. I unplug and reset the camera every few weeks when it says offline. Overall this camera is fair. Customer service is fair. If you want a camera that works 75-80% of the time, this will do.
I’ve had my Zmodo doorbell/camera for two years. I was offered a free trial for Zmodo CLOUD service which was purchased on the Zmodo App. Upon its expiration I attempted to purchase a yearly subscription and the response was that if Zi had an IOS device I couldn’t purchase on the Zmodo app but had to download the meShare app. I did so but then was unable to link the two apps to complete my purchase. I consulted Zmodo support through their app via chat and for 1.5 hours I was jerked around with differing instructions referring me first to their app, then the meShare app and finally their website. The chat times out on you before you can complete the process they instruct you to do and you have to start a new chat. After this happened four times I asked them to call me in my cell phone and they said they would tomorrow. When I insisted after 1.5 hours that a real human call me to walk me through this ridiculously complicated process they said they would call me at 6:20amCST today. Well it was already 8:10am MST where I was located (Denver) which meant it was already 9:10am CST. I could go on and on about my experience with this company’s lack of customer service over a period of 1.5 hours but I’ll just advise this. Get a Ring or Nest doorbell/camera because this company does not provide you with after purchase support of their devices. That’s what I’m going to do in order that I may monitor my property for more than their short, free 20 second video clip because I’m unable to purchase their 24hour cloud monitoring service online and they offer no support in order to do so. The most complicated online purchase I’ve ever encountered.
