SongPop Classic - Music Trivia

I’ve been playing Song Pop since 2013 and it’s honestly one of my favorite mobile games of all time. During the Covid years specially from 2020 onward, I became much more involved in the game and started playing more seriously. Some pop was more than just entertainment for me: it helped me through a difficult period of depression and gave me something positive to look forward every day. Along the way, I met many wonderful people from around the world, and I was even lucky enough to meet some of those friends in person. What I love most about the game is its simplicity. The classic version remains my favorite because it focuses on what’s made the game great in the first place: music; friendly competition and community. my suggestion is not to overcomplicate game with too many new features. It often feels like every major update adds more things that make the app heavier and less enjoyable than before. “Less is more”: the core gameplay is already fantastic and what has kept players like me coming back for over a decade.

Update 4/4/24: loving the new badge page! So much easier to navigate now. Well done! 🌟🎉 This is one of my favorite apps ever, been playing since it came out. With that being said, there are some issues that get more annoying over time. When an old list you’re so close to mastering (or have already mastered) becomes a list you can now master for a badge, it makes you reset your progress!! So all that playing was a complete waste of time. I’m getting tired of resetting a list just to get a badge. I already put in all of the work to master it. If it’s already mastered, we should automatically be awarded the badge since it’s already completed. I never got the point of resetting it. Resetting should be an option if the player wants to voluntarily replay the list from start to finish. Please fix the page that shows our badges. Every time I click on a genre to see if I need to level up, when I go back to the main badge screen, it takes me to the very top of the screen. I then have to scroll through all of the achievement badges again (70 of them!!). It’s VERY annoying to constantly scroll past them since they’re at the very top of the page. I would suggest making the achievement badges a separate tab, not all on one screen.

Here’s how you do it. No One wants to pay $5 a month for a game app. No One wants to sit through 30 seconds of horrid fish screeching ads either. Some may hate that enough to go ahead and cough up the $5 and that was probably the plan but you’re losing a lot of users and here’s why. Your $5 a month schmucks (oops. I mean VIP’s) need competitors. Lots of different competitors to keep an interest in the game and keep that $5 a month fee coming in. Annoying the F out of anyone trying to play the game is going to discourage many cheapskates from continuing. Keep your 5 second ads and cut out the 30 second ones. The people who paid you money to get rid of ads are still going to pay you a monthly fee because they hate ads. The cheapskates who will never pay anyway will stick around and put up with the ads. Most will leave with the 30 second ones though, leaving less competitors for the VIP’s, leading them to lose interest or stop playing. Next, Lower the ridiculous $5 a month fee. Make it a $1 or $.99 cents. This makes it attractive to the cheapskates and you’ll get more subscribers, surpassing what you got when you charged $5. Think about it. You want 1000 people paying $5 a month or 10,000 people paying $1 a month? Think of it like bars who host ladies nights. Are the guys who pay $5 a beer going to go to the bar that brings in the most ladies? You bet! The ladies aren’t going to show up if the deal includes an annoying speech to sit through in order to get in. Then you lose all the $5 beer guys because not enough ladies coming through the door. Then you add some equality to that, make beers $1 for everyone and you got the hottest place in town. Think about it.
