So, I purchased this app, along with their C25K app, a while back so this forty-something softie could firm up and out run the impending middle age mid life crisis chasing close behind. I can’t remember, it was something like $2.99 or $4.99 - but something I felt reasonable I just needed the pace and structure and I didn’t need any of the extra subscription-based bells and whistles they offered. So, as the fate of most softies, I get started and get part way through, then life and laziness happen and I fall off the push up wagon. I have recently resumed as I looked behind me and say my looming mid-life crisis gaining on me. When I first bought it, I had made it to Week 4, Day 2 and all my data is still saved. Great! So, I start from the beginning and today completed Week 2 Day 2 but something looks different - it locks at Week 3 and I have to pay a monthly subscription. I cannot even get to my previous cut off point without paying a subscription for an app I already paid to download - NO THANKS! I would not have purchased the app if I knew it would have locked at Week 3. If you do something like this with your C25K app (again, one I paid a reasonable price for the basic program but declined the extra features for a monthly subscription) I am going to have such a hissy fit!
This app will train your push up skills one day at a time. If you can’t complete a workout, you can repeat it as much as you want until you get it and then go on to the next one. I’m a martial arts competitor and athlete myself, so I like challenges. I do the sessions with regular push ups and then I try to notch it up a bit by starting workouts from the beginning with harder pushups (like diamond pushups, one arm push ups, Superman push ups, etc.), while simultaneously keeping up the regular push ups. I stretch in between as calisthenics are a great warm up at the same time. You can use it however you like it. That’s the nice thing about it. I have the couch to 5K app also. So first I run, them stretching and different muscle workouts.
I've been using this and I'm on the third day of the second week! The pace is slow which I like! I'm an athlete myself. I play Football, Soccer, Basketball (sometimes), and Baseball year-round. Although I consider myself to be fit, I can't do 100 push-ups in one sitting! The beginning of the workout was slow and easy, but now it's starting to become difficult and slightly intense! I love it! I'm so hyped for the ability to perform 100 push-ups! I would certainly recommend this to a friend/friends! This app makes me want to buy more! If anybody is skeptical about this app or just has doubts about it, let me share something. I was skeptical at first, but I was willing to try it! So try it! It's worth it!
