Focustown: Pomodoro Timer

I do like the app. I like being able to study with people but don’t have many people irl to do it with so having people “around me” who are all focused is really nice. I like the different settings, the daily shops, the way you can interact with people and their dreams. My only complaint is that the art style is advertised a different way than the game really is,. I like the in game art style, but a lot of the art to advertise the game is very ACNH, but the actual in game models look nothing like it. Which is fine, I just fish they would use that art style instead when advertising so you’re not thrown off. Another small complaint is that when you’re looking through people in the setting you’re in, it’s very easy to close out of it and you’ll have to restart. If you’ve already clicked to congratulate them on their dream, and accidentally click again, it will close you out and that can be a little annoying. Overall, it’s a great app. I’m really glad it exists and it’s very cute and silly and definitely helps improve productivity. Would recommend

I love the innovation of this app and it truly helps me to lock in! I use it on my Mac to study, and have a couple recommendations if they choose to formally expand FocusTown to computer download: (1): pop-out feature: Allows us to see our timer, character, and bg music on the bottom of our screen. At the moment, I can only minimize to a large rectangle, and can’t put it on another window on the “No Distractions” feature. (2): friend requests: send friend requests when we tap on another players character. (3): have a task list/ to-do list feature where we can complete items off our list(4): the background music/ sound effects aren’t that great. The cafe chatter can be loud (even at 1%) and isn’t “smooth”. Some people are louder than others and I can hear a child screaming in the back?? 😭Birds/nature/ waterfall sounds would be appreciated! (5): pause timers: Sometimes I would like to pause the timer to use the bathroom or get a snack without having to give up. (6): more customizable hair/ decorative items that we can purchase. I really like that I can work towards unlocking more study areas and clothes— it makes me more motivated to study! More items would be super cool!

This app helps a lot if you’re having trouble with focusing on schoolwork, locking in when studying, or just wanting to spend more time working on a project you’ve been putting off. It’s also very cute! You can choose which table you want to sit at, as well as click to learn about the goals other people may be working for! There are people studying from around the globe, so it’s very interesting! Characters are customizable and you also have the option to set your session to “Deep Focus Mode” which makes it so you can’t leave the app for more than 15 seconds or else your progress gets reset. NOT TO MENTION, this is all free and all the features I mentioned above come with the app, no extra purchases needed. So, if you’re looking for an app that will keep you working and stay on track, this app is one that I wholeheartedly encourage you to get! 🫶
