The big update was an improvement but it eliminated notifications for when a class booking became open and other notifications just don’t seem the same. The interface is more responsive and new but far too much focus on the extra apps. I have an iPhone and apple fitness. I just want to get reminders of class booking and facilities closures. Pool schedule etc.
The title says it all. In the old app, I’ve been asking the developers for YEARS to add Passkit / Apple Wallet support so you can add your YMCA membership card to Apple Wallet for faster scanning / check-in. Currently, the app requires you to launch it and press a button or two to pull up the barcode. The app is slow to launch and pressing buttons takes precious, unneeded seconds every day when I need to scan my digital barcode at the check in. And to add insult to injury sometimes the gym WiFi goes down, so it doesn’t launch at all until I turn off the WiFi and revert to my own LTE… If they added Passkit support, I’d be able to just add my YMCA membership to Apple Wallet - which works with NO INTERNET connection at all and also pulls up MUCH FASTER. It even geo tags the gym and pulls the barcode up on your Lock Screen automatically when you get close to the gym. I cannot stress how good this is and how bad it’s been not having Apple Wallet support. The YMCA in Indian Land, SC - just 15 mins away has Apple Wallet support in their app, so you can too! Get on it!!!
Wanted to login to my existing Y account. Entered my email, and the next screen takes to sign up page, not letting to continue with login to enter password. Turns out, I had to create new EGYM account, which I did using the app. The old app said “you have to use the new app, and that your info will be transferred”. Nope, info was not transferred.
