I’ve played for about a week now. What I’ve enjoyed is the link between completing my habits and building my character. Originally I struggled with not maintaining a habit because the connected reward was too distant (IE losing 10 lbs, or getting to know myself through journaling). With Becoming Fearless there is the instant positive feedback by gaining XP for your character. Also there is a difficulty to the game side too. The characters do become harder to beat so you need to add some strategy to playing the game which helps provide feedback to you to keep doing your habits (in order to beat more monsters). There are definitely bugs I’m sure the developer is working (saw and “ideas” area where people could voice their concerns) but overall I’d say it’s worth the try. 💪

So far, I’ve only used the free version to get a feel for the app before I decide to pay for a subscription. I think it could totally be worth paying for if you’re someone that needs to see the progress you’re making to stay motivated. Theres a lot of options for habits to build and break which is great since most apps focus on one habit alone like drinking water or walking. My only real gripe about it is that it’s not customizable to certain needs or lifestyles. I’m an overnight worker so I have to sleep during the day to keep my schedule, but the app makes you choose a wake up time as part of your habits to build and the only options are from 4am-12pm which is during the time I have to sleep so I can be up the rest of the night. It’s really only designed for people who have a daytime schedule which is why I say it’s not made for everyone. Otherwise, it’s pretty good.

Love the concept of this app, and I especially love how easy it is to not get killed, it allows me to start new habits at my own pace and doesn’t punish me too harshly for missing one time. It encourages me to at least show up for the day. I’d love to see more features such as a customizable character(not just clothing/armor wise) different backgrounds(maybe a world map where you can unlock more locations as you level up?), and maybe have it be more risky to skip habits as you level up(maybe have an enemy that takes half your health if you miss one habit?). Keep up the great work!
