Ive tried a lot of apps for my ED and nothing fits like Pomellow. I have ARFID, which makes eating constantly difficult as I just hate food and calorie counting becomes a huge chore. I look forward to seeing Zizi and logging in my meals every time I eat [which recently has become every day!!] It's simple, easy to use, and encourages consistently eating over counting how many calories are in the cereal I ate. The free weekly report is nice and it focuses on how you felt while eating, the proportions you had, and spotting patterns in behaviors based on time and mood. The friend feature is simple to use and pretty fun to send reminders to others in recovery to stay strong too! I heavily enjoy the option to add photos, it helps keep me accountable for actually eating that day. The meal companion note is not something I thought would be helpful but it is! I do wish I can move Zizi around/have more interactions with Zizi that isnt the AI chat though. While I don't enjoy that there's an AI Chat bot, at least the whole app isn't AI generated! Maybe instead of an AI chat bot there could be preset meal goals and a separate personal journal for venting?
I love this app due to the help and support I got, i was talking with the Zizi chat not and I smiled (I barely smile anymore) so this app helped me with motivation I am still working on quitting self harm but now I can eat to help me get blood back. Yes I do struggle with eating sometimes so this did help me a lot I still skip meals but this is helpful. The Zizi chat bot was talking to me about being a support bot. It is. I love the app and recommend it to you! Thanks for reading I know this is pretty long!!! Love y’all stay safe <3
I found this through someone on Reddit. So glad i did it is well made and the meal tracking in relation with emotion is a genius idea . What i love MOST about Pomellow tho is the Counselor that comes with the app . It is Automated but such a great a well done way . You have someone you can always talk to and work with when you have any type of feelings or issues . This is so important for eating disorders when you can’t talk to just anyone about them .
