First of all, this is an amazing game. It runs so smoothly, the graphics are far better than expected, and ads are infrequent and not intrusive. When the amount of ads are “fair” to me as the user, I’m often more likely to financially support through in-game purchases more frequently. The breed models are really good, I’ve enjoyed them all and appreciate the social aspect of breeding your dogs. Go to the FB page, add friend codes, share your own, and breed for rare coat types with your friends. Really great addition to the game. The balance feels off, however, when it comes to earning breed points and bones. It feels like the frequency you earn each should be switched. I don’t like that I struggle to earn bones while I’m sitting on 600+ Labrador breed points. I appreciate the grind but I’d rather be level-capped by a shortage of bred points, essentially pushing me to grind a few weeks at breed type tournaments to level my lab up to the next level. It would also challenge me to rotate what my highest stat breed is based on the breed points I’m earning and the breed type tournaments I’ve trained enough for to earn those extra breed points. I wanna be excited when I finally have 40 Labrador points to level up my lab not have it given to me just because I threw every bone I earned on one dog. I hope that makes sense and it’s probably more of an issue of my own preference in play style. Anyways 10/10
This is not a bad game at all, it’s fun, the dogs are pretty realistic, the breed span is great. i like that you only breed the same dog breed most games you just mix dogs. the main play events are fun but a little bit repetitive. this also goes for the competitions and the tournaments. i also think the events should be more realistic, the competitors should be grouped by size or breed. a french bulldog wouldn’t be competing against an akita in agility for example. i also think there should be a bit more free play in the game. more activities to do with dogs and puppies, such as basic training exercises or playtime with different toys without having to wait for their care needs. for example there could be a tab or icon to pick which dog to play fetch, do short agility courses, or do tricks and more picked at random. i think this would add more fun to the game and some more free play instead of just doing the same competitions. this sort of leads into needing more ways to get bones, such as adding them as rewards for playing with your dogs, more from playing in games or competitions. then the last thing is a small change i think the “your dogs” tab as well as the “puppies” tab should show the grade and level of the dog.
This game is really awesome and it has quickly become one of my favorite ways to pass time! Definitely two thumbs WAY up for the devs on creating a good dog competition game that is not only fun and fairly realistic, but fully available to everyone regardless of what’s in their wallet. There are a decent selection of breeds, each specializing in a particular skill, and, while unlocking the breeds definitely takes time and luck, there is no pay-wall that prevents you from unlocking everything if you aren’t opposed to putting in the time and effort to do so. I do wish that breeding was a thing for a chance to unlock enhanced skills and maybe bonus coat colors, but I get that that would kind of dampen the usefulness of the breed points and that the age of the dog would suddenly need to come deeper into play, so I’m okay with it not being included. Two things I DO think should be considered for future inclusion is a “skip animation” prompt when the auto-compete feature is turned on; and, also, that there was an option to pass on crates earned from competition before all your crate slots are filled. They should still absolutely have the resetting counter to unlock a crate, but I think being able to select which crates you keep would be nice given how rare the 8hr crates are. Keep up the good work, devs, you’re doing great!!!
