ADDICTING! I downloaded this about a week ago on a whim just browsing Apple Arcade 1 day. The screenshots looked amazing & the game seemed sorta like the OG Halo Wars(the original from years ago) I loved that game and have been looking for a mobile option that’s even remotely close to a build, save resources, train, attack or defend in a set amount of time. I still have yet to find that game that mimics Halo Wars for me. However this game is a piece of that mixed with other amazing factors that make this game addicting from the start. Keep in mind when you first open game it’ll automatically throw you into tutorial mode & the first 10 steps are tutorial & not reflection of how easy they are versus the real game but rather it’s a fast & very simple brief description of the mechanics. There is A TON MORE TO LEARN! IT ABSOLUTELY HAS A LEARNING CURVE. Don’t expect to get it your first time opening the game and becoming a master bc it won’t happen. I just started playing the first time for about an hour before I wrote this & idk if I’m still anymore knowledgeable or not but I can say that without a doubt on my iPhone 15 Pro this games runs like butter! All the in game display settings are set to epic by default. Idk if that’s bc it knew I had a 15 Pro capable of handling that or if it does it for everyone & you have to go to game settings and adjust to your iPhone’s capability when it comes to gaming!
Good premise, graphics, and everything but like someone else said after finishing the tutorial I still felt a bit lost…..the differences between building a bot and placing a different bot and telling the bots what to do and the powers of the main character were all still a bit hazy. Maybe I just don’t have the patience to figure it out, but I can’t believe I’m saying, there should be more tutorials, or at least the option to go through a campaign with the first few levels being more instructive. I may give it another shot, but after the tutorial, I just found myself hitting buttons that I didn’t know what the heck I was really doing.
This game is awesome! Incredible graphics, smooth gameplay, engaging combat. But it after the tutorial I felt a bit lost. Looking forward to a campaign mode or online multiplayer.
