Sakura - Chat with AI Bots

Genuinely, I think this app is really good. I think a lot of people have migrated to other apps due to some recent changes / restrictions *cough cough* of other apps that have kind of gone downhill. Sakura is really great for creative outlets. It doesn’t have super tight constraints on limits for creating a character (you have sections for a persona, a first message, and a description, as well including if you want the character to be sfw or nsfw). You get the option to do some test run character descriptions and user responses to get the character to react the way you would like, as well as a spot to include how you want to the character to respond. This alone creates a lot of space to create and some serious nuance! And not only that, the responses are actually good and listen to you. They don’t repeat everything the user is saying, and do refer to the descriptions you provided for them within the character ser-up. I think the interface is easy to use and pretty seamless. The app DOES have message limits, be warned, but they have opportunities for you to get unlimited. All in all, for a majorly free app and upcoming, this app is doing a lot of things right for immersive RPG. I hope to see more content for creating more personas for the user in the future! Highly recommend.

There’s a lot to do on this app. The responses of the bots are also lengthy, which I like. When you choose for the bot to continue, it doesn’t make it into multiple replies. It combines it into that one message. It makes it easier to re-read it without having to skim through loads of messages. Lastly, I like how they like put a little warning on a message if it contains certain themes like mature content or anything else before it even sends. If you’re all for that, it still lets you send the message and doesn’t censor it. It lets you continue the roleplay like normal. A lot of apps tend to censor explicit things and topics like suicide among other topics in that range. This app does it but still lets you continue with the reply if you were going that route with your character. As someone who comes up with dark backstories for my characters, of course some of my characters may have suicidal thoughts. When I’m on character AI and I go this route with my character of choice, it always censors it and doesn’t let it go through. With Sakura Ai, though, I can have my character act more like themselves and have their struggles without the bot censoring my replies
