Just installed this unit. Set it up for 48A charging. EV will only accept 48A not 50A but. It’s has the wiring for 50A. I am the master electrician installing this for my shops new Ford E-Transit 350. Indoors at the panel. 60A std breaker (they don’t make GFCI for my square D panel for 60A 2P) Line- Ran #6 to outdoor spa type 60A GFCI breaker. Load of breaker to EVIQO charger. Removed factory wiring since it wouldn’t reach anyway. Ran thhn #6 in 1/2” Liquidtight to device. landed in device L1,L2,G connections. Put everything together correctly. I’ve installed this same unit at a customer’s residence and it worked great. Mine. Gave me an error. 8 flashes on the front of device. App says relay. Checked power from GFCI to unit. Got 244.0 L1-L2 122.1 L1-G 122.8 L2-G Seems like the ribbon cable going to the front from the board was the issue. We reseated it and the issue went away. So now we will see. I hope not to wake up to a van that wasn’t charged due to a fault that’s hard to pinpoint. But so far so good. I got 3 days until the van arrives. We will see then how it works out
Installation was easy. Documentation was good but could use an electrical diagram of how the wires should be connected to 50 or 60 amp breaker and ground wire. I get that professional electricians will know, but it would be good to have the information to the consumer to check work done by certified electrician. Maybe pictures would help? The unit booted great on first time, installation of app and registration was really easy. The app is great!!!
Great home charger. Sturdy construction, long cord, easy to use. The charge time is faster than other Level 2 chargers I’ve used. Initially I couldn’t pair the app to the unit. Since a contractor installed my unit, I didn’t know that pairing the app takes place during the first 15 minutes after unit is turned on. I contacted customer service and got a fast response with the instructions: reboot charge unit and follow instructions on app. Everything then connected easily. I considered many different options for my EV charger and am happy with this purchase. It is a solid unit that charges well, sleek modern design, easy to use, handy app - and costs a bit less than some others I was considering.
