There are a few key features about this app that separate it from other running apps. The first is the variety of runs it creates for each training plan. Each run has a specific purpose but even runs that appear similar, there is enough variation to keep things interesting. The runs are auto created based on your goals and syncs to your smart watch. You can view your planned runs out to your goal date ( if you have a race). The second is modifying and customization runs if your schedule changes. You can easily drag and drop a run to another day. You can change the difficulty up or down which increases or decreases the distance/time/intervals. All of your changes seamlessly syncs to your watch. Super powerful. The third is the AI coach. The latest version is crazy good. I have been adding more comments after my runs and not only does it analyze your most recent run but it remembers info from past runs and prompts you with additional info. It really does feel like you’re talking with a real coach - a coach that analyzes all data - HR, pace, weather, perceived effort and more. Highly recommended. I have a super busy schedule and would never be able to develop a running plan let alone program my watch with so much detail. It’s like having a coach on your wrist.
NXT run has been incredible for my training and taking away the stress of having to create a plan myself. NXT run has allowed me to enjoy the training process again without worrying about thinking through or planning a week or months of training at a time. As well it has given my training a variety of workouts! The thing I have enjoyed most is the ability to change the day a workout is planned and/or the intensity of the workout. I have a full time job and two small children, so the ability to be flexible is huge. I am excited to see how my races in 2024 go while using the NXT run app.
This app has provided a huge support to my training this year. My last two racing seasons I struggled with injuries that slowed me down and made race days disappointing. Since using NXT Run I can already tell this season is going to be different, the AI coaching feature has been so helpful in how to prepare for runs, recover afterwards, and also given various nutrition tips. The biggest difference though is the intuitive nature of the workout plans based on my current fitness level and goals. Before I was ramping up way too fast which led to injuries, so far I am healthy and getting stronger.
