Almost there !

This app es excellent for tracking your HR during your exercise. Super important if you are working on a HR Zone program. It’s very reliable, I am pairing it withq the Polar H10, and works perfect, already tested more than 30 work outs, not a single fail. I would have given all five stars, if it had a more detailed calorie burning calculation. It does not give you a breakdown between active and rest calories and it seems like the calculation is not adaptive like the one in the fitness app in apple. The calories reported are always overcalculated, despite it has my correct personal info, weight age etc,… **Update. The developer responded to my review which immediately makes me think they genuinely want to make a good product. I have raised the stars to 4, because the performance is immaculate. No issues at all. I still find it annoying about the calorie calculation. I understand there are so many methods , but to me it’s about consistency. And for all day long activity I am hostage to the cal calculation apple makes, so I wish this app would have a way for me to stay consistent. For now, I use it for monitoring my zones during the workout, but not for calorie calculation, which makes me start another session in the apple workout, and I have to run two sessions, that is annoying

It helped me discover and manage a heart condition

I love love love this app. I paired it with my Polar H10 as some post covid woes left me with a condition I discovered called PEM for short. Through this app, I found out I also had POTS which was later diagnosed but it keeping tabs on my heart rate has been awesome. With POTS and PEM, I have only used the app to alert me when my heart is over a specific BPM threshold so I can be alerted when to sit and rest. You can adjust a minimum heart rate as well which can also be used to alert you but I personally only have the higher end toggled on. I have used this a few times for exercising too but given my conditions- I don’t do that very often. You can set thresholds on heart though and it pings you when you go from your heart mildly working to moderately working to working hard is the simplest way I can put it. I can’t live without this monitor. It’s helped me manage my conditions. I’m also a huge privacy advocate so seeing on the App Store that this app does not sell any of your data is an absolute bonus to me. Health monitoring is absolutely private information and I am thankful the developers seem to agree with this as well. Highly recommend.

Awesome app

If you are at all interested in tracking your heart rate during workouts, this app is for you. You can use default heart rate zones based on your age or if you feel those aren’t appropriate you can customize your zones. With the auto-import feature, workouts you start on your Apple Watch will show up in this app and workouts you start in the Heart Graph app will show up in your iPhone activity app. For every workout you can see a beautiful color coded graph of your heart rate showing what zones you were in and if you swipe the data area at the top of the graph you can see exactly how much time you spent in each zone. Once you’ve accumulated some workouts, the analysis function will show you how much time you’ve spent in each zone on a weekly and monthly basis. I’m 67 so theoretically my max heart rate is 153. I was hitting 165 in workouts with my trainer and then feeling totally wiped out for the next day or two. Heart Graph to the rescue. I used the alarm feature to warn me when I get to 145 heart rate so I can dial back my effort and keep my heart rate below 150. Now I get a great workout without feeling ill afterwards. I absolutely love this app. I have to warn you, when I first got the app I found it a bit confusing, but it didn’t take long to get the hang of it. Just have a bit of patience, play around with the features and you will be well rewarded. I recommend shelling out the $3 for the premium version immediately. It’s less than a cup of coffee at Starbucks and it’s a one time charge, not a monthly fee. Some of the features I mentioned above are only in the premium version so it’s well worth the price.
