Happy Scale

Just wanted to state for anyone interested in this app that I relay like the app. I have used it (free version) on/off for 5+ years, most times for months at a time and at the longest for a year. My historical data has always been available each time I started using it again and through device upgrades. I started using the app again as recently as September 2025 and then upgraded my device in November 2025. When I went into the app after my device upgrade my data was gone with no way to retrieve it. I upgraded to the paid version, hoping that maybe my data would be able to be retrieved, at least the most recent data. That didn’t happen. I contacted the developer who gave me suggestions as to why I may have lost my data, none of which were applicable. Unfortunately, my historical data is gone. However, I write this to say how appreciative I am of the quick response (to not one but multiple email correspondences), the willingness to assist, and the understanding of my concerns. You don’t find good customer service often these days so even when issues are not resolved exactly the way I would like, I truly appreciate good customer service and like to call it out. This alone, makes me want to continue using the app. Good customer service goes a long way! Thank you Russ!

I was encouraged to get this app by Ree Drummond’s essay about losing 50 pounds which included a recommendation of this app. Within days it changed my relationship with the scale which I had avoided for 8 years as I healed from a lifetime of compulsive dieting. After healing my mind recently I came to the point that I wanted to feel better in my body. I wish I had this app years ago because I’d probably be working towards losing 5 pounds vs. 30, but so it goes! With this app’s moving average perspective and encouraging stats and colorful graphs, I have shifted my mindset about weight and weight loss. Slimming down is possible, even during menopause. It is a non-linear, slow-and-steady accumulation of choices. It helps to find a method of accountability that supports mental well being — this app is it! I am a cook, food and wine lover, and Intuitive Eater. For me, losing weight now is looking like a half pound per week, but I’ll take it! I have worked hard to bring joy and well being into my food relationship and now, feeling better in my body is happening too. Without Happy Scale I’m almost sure I would have thrown in the towel by now. Instead I am in the journey, curiously learning more about my body and my preferences. I’ve lost 5 pounds in a little over a month. I’ve been eating less and moving more and Happy Scale is helping me stay positive. Thank you so much, Russ!

Initially, I was very reluctant to use this app. It encouraged me to weigh daily, which terrified me. But I found out that weighing daily actually helps give a moving average of my weight. In all actuality that gives me a better view of how much weight I'm really losing. I can now see after using this app for several months that weighing daily has helped me lose weight. Weight that I have not been able to lose since the onset of menopause three years ago. Today I am celebrating! Typically people are encouraged to weigh once monthly or weekly. But what if on that one day you decide to weigh, you consumed too much salt the day before? It's going to show up on the scale. possibly in a weight gain of 1–3 pounds. And in your mind, you think you have failed... again. By recording my weight on the HappyScale app every day, I can see what progress I have made that week, that month, etc. I don't flip out over occasional weight gain. I can see that my overall trend is weight loss. That has changed my mindset. I do not beat myself up if my weight is up a pound or two. It encourages me to keep going forward with my healthy life choices. What have I learned the most with this app? WEIGHT LOSS IS NOT LINEAR! This app lets me see the big picture and not just one small piece of the picture. I tell everyone about this app! Thank you, Happy Scale!
