Excellent Implementation of Cassino!

I have been playing Cassino since my childhood and even created a Cassino computer game in Windows years ago, so I consider myself to be pretty knowledgeable about the game. Michael Dokken’s implementation is first rate and provides a worthy opponent. The UX is clean and intuitive and very enjoyable to use. I just read another review that claimed it didn’t follow the rules, the cards dealt were not random and overall played poorly. That is ABSOLUTELY INCORRECT! Please take a look at the various configuration options and settings before posting a baseless negative review! I play with the difficulty set to “Hard” and find that I win a little over 50% of the time, which is what I would expect as a skilled player. The highest difficulty level (called “Insane”) is quite a challenge to beat and my guess is that it keeps track of the cards that are played and uses probability and statistics to give itself super human skills. If you play at this level be prepared to be humbled! Don’t hesitate to try this fabulous implementation of the best card game there is - Cassino! You’ll love it!!! ——————————— Full disclosure: I have no relation, personal or business with Mr. Dokken and was not asked to write this review. The opinions expressed are my own and I stand by them 100%.

Best casino gameplay

I grew up playing regular casino with my dad and brothers, at home or on the boat; so when I found a casino app I was very excited. This one has much better play options than the first one I found, like changing it to “casino royale” rules. This game is classic commercial fisherman passed time, and we do something that I wish you could do on here. We use the jokers as (-1/-2) wild cards. We have some decks that have them as (-1), and others have (-2). We also play with multiple decks if you want to play with more than 4 players. It makes it much harder to keep track of how many aces, or other high cards have been played already. I really like what they’ve done with this game. The only other thing I would add if possible, would be sound, so you could talk to the other players.

Decent but expert level cheats

Decent app. Most people are complaining about not being able to modify with the computer built. I haven't had that issue. I can modify as long as I'm using a card from my hand to add onto a stack that isn't doubled or tripled already. Once something is built, you're not supposed to be able to use anything else from the open board to build on that stack...can only build from your hand. The app is accurate in this instance.\nThat said, there are a couple things about the game that are not right.\n1) When you're playing on the expert level, the computer doesn't just play better… He usually gets better cards (in my experience, it's 70% of the time that his hand will steal what you need or build almost every time). It would be better if the card randomization was better, and it was truly random.\n2) In the actual rules, when you get to 17, you have to get most cards and most spades to win. At 18 or 19, you have to get most cards to win. When you get to 20, you have to get most spades to win. And whoever has the highest point total going into the final hand wins the game if both people accomplish what they need to to get to 21. You don't just keep playing to an infinite number. If you have 18, any point cards you get don't count for you - you just keep the other person from scoring. It allows a person who is down 18-7 (for example) a chance to come back as long as they keep getting most cards. \nMake these adjustments and the app will follow the actual Cassino rules.
