I like being able to call into work extensions from this app. I don't like that anyone calling me from those extensions or other Linphone users can't reach me on this app unless the app is open and running in the foreground. I set my SIP to tls and still will work in background. If this isn't fixed then the app, though it has great features is of limited use to me. Sorry can't give 5 stars until this is fixed for iPhone users.

This SIP client is one of the few free apps to support iOS 10 CallKit, which treats VOIP calls like native phone calls and allows incoming calls to be answered without unlocking the phone. It's been working great on my iPhone and iPad. \nIt also supports PushKit for incoming call push notification but with a caveat- the SIP server must also support push notifications, and LinPhone's own SIP service seems to be the only free one to support it that I've found so far. So I had to set up an account with them and direct incoming calls to it to get full incoming call functionality. It's been working well, and I receive incoming calls even when the app isn't open. Battery life doesn't seem to be affected because PushKit is designed to be very power-efficient. Since iOS 10 eliminated support for background VOIP mode, PushKit is the only way to reliably receive incoming SIP calls on iOS 10. \nOne criticism I have is that LinPhone only uses its own ringtone instead of the system ringtone under CallKit, and there is no way to change it. On iOS 10, it would be useful to have the option to use the system ringtone and contact-specific custom ringtones that I set in my contacts app.
