Having Venmo has made life easier with kids ! When my children are away and run out of money or loose there debit card it’s nice to know I can send them money in seconds and knowing my kid won’t go hungry or left out of activities having no money to do anything I won’t have to sit at home stressed or my heart breaking thinking how my kid is feeling or if they feel sick from hunger pains because now I can send money right to there phones , not to mention no more driving far away to bring them money which also saves me time and money on gas driving there and back ! Also the discounts and cash back when you use your Venmo at participating businesses is nice and when you go into your account and find $10 or $20 dollars returned to you is always exciting lol I recommend everyone getting the Venmo debit card to use everywhere you shop or spend money at so you get the rewards and discounts that come with using the card and all the card is for is to be able to spend the money that you put in your Venmo or the money others send you that’s in your Venmo account and by using this card to shop it’s less likely someone hacks your bank info and steals everything from your bank or credit cards , the Venmo card you put as much or as little you want to shop with and if someone gets into that account your not loosing everything or fighting a large credit card expense because you don’t have to attach your bank info to it you can go to cvs or Walmart and load money on it or Venmo yourself and then remove your bank card from it when done
You can easily set debit cards instantly to add funds to your Venmo. Bank accounts take a little longer with confirmed small charges (cents) they send to your bank to verify it to allow you to send funds from or to your bank swiftly. Sending money to your bank once it’s verified is instant also. The Venmo card is like a regular debit card so you can use it anywhere and is mailed to you in a couple of days at no charge to you when requested. It’s really handy with no fees on purchases added and their technical support contacts you back right away when you send them an e-mail with any questions or concerns with your account. They’re flexible and will work with you if you let them know what happened. The customer service is awesome. You do need to have a regular phone number because they don’t accept any WiFi calling or text app phone numbers. You can set all of your transactions to private so that all of your friends don’t have to see what you send or receive in payments, but by default it’s set to friends so double check your privacy settings if you prefer discretion like I do. I’ve been using Venmo for a while and have yet to have any complaints. It’s the same company as PayPal so your transactions are trusted and secure for sure. It’s definitely grown in the number of connected merchants since I made an account, which was over a year ago, and pretty much everyone I know has one now so sending payments to friends at a moment’s notice is no hassle at all. I really love using this app, I use it all of the time. 💜🤓
As far as transferring money to another person the service works pretty well , just like CashApp or PayPal. The Venmo card has been a horrible experience. For the first few days I had and used it I experienced no issues. Today it was a entirely different story. My card with adequate funds on it was declined everywhere causing much embarrassment. I finally reached out to Venmo and after several attempts got someone on the chat option. They basically told me they were being declined for security and could do nothing to assist me. Under normal circumstances I could understand and actually be thankful for a financial institution protecting my best interests but my card was declined at Kohl’s department store, two gas stations and even the ATM. The representative hand no remedy to give me beside cashing out to my bank and using my debit card. That would have been fine but the instant transfer wasn’t an option so 1 to 3 business days is now what I’ll have to wait to access the funds. Long story short if you want to send someone money who doesn’t mind waiting to get the actual money in the bank for a few days then Venmo is a fine option. If you want access to your funds quickly or the ability to use a debit card issue free use PayPal or your bank. Today’s issues put Venmo on the bottom of my list for fund transfer services for sure and the person I chatted with just solidified that I am making the correct choice.
