Cathay Pacific

Cathay Pacific left several of passengers’ luggage behind and treated it like it was just a minor inconvenience. It felt like a decision they made before the flight, because when we landed there were staff with a small booth ready to manage frustrated passengers and collect information. My connecting flight was only a couple of hours later to an island outside the main city, requiring additional travel. I was told my luggage would arrive on the next flight which is the following day. I was given the option to continue without my bags and have them shipped, but because this destination is far from the main metropolitan area, it could take up to a couple of days to a week for the luggage to arrive depending on the shipping company, which is the entire length of my vacation. I chose to stay and wait for the next flight with the luggage. That decision forced me to book a hotel and later purchase a new connecting flight out of pocket to continue my trip. At the airport, staff were apologetic and assured us that reasonable expenses would be covered. After submitting receipts and filing a claim, Cathay Pacific refused to reimburse anything. No hotel. No rebooked flight. Nothing. I guess they expect you to sleep at the airport. Do not assume this airline will take responsibility if something goes wrong. If your trip matters to you, will not book with Cathay Pacific. I will never fly with them again.

Your airline has the best world in class pacific flights. Your app and user experience as well as passenger experience is abysmal. I cannot recommend Cathay. Their document entry is broken, check in is broken, and inherently makes flying frustratingly impossible. This is the third time I’ve flown with Cathay out of pure love for their service. This will be the last. You’re an international airline, and yet somehow have managed to make your document process for American residents and check in harder and more frustrating if not impossible to use than it was for me to set up Alipay and 微信in China. If Air Shenzhen and VietJet can make an app and online service and even physical check in better than yours, you’re the problem. Get it together guys. Was excited to hit Diamond status with you as I have done with statuses in every other airline. United Airlines simply rewards me for paying them better, as well as Delta.

Cathay, Cathay, how I love you. Every time I start to book, for you and only you I look. For if I am flying to Hong Kong, Taiwan, or so on. I will search for a flight with you. From your perfect seat, to your modern fleet, everything about you is really neat. A ranking higher than the sky your planes fly. Airbus or Boeing, you keep on going, with your perfect flights, Throughout the days or nights. You will always, always, be right, on time.
